Unable to begin character creation

I recently purchased and began trying to play Pathfinder Kingmaker. However, I have been unable to get beyond the character creation screen. At present, I am unable to even begin playing. I am able to get through the Scenario, Difficulty, and initial Character screen, but as soon as I click Next to go into developing the character, the game immediately crashes: -[MTLRenderPipelineDescriptorInternal validateWithDevice:]:2522: failed assertion `rasterSampleCount (2) is not supported by device.’

I found online forums that suggested I should add a -force-gfx-metal tag, but this did not help the issue either as an added option within Steam or running the game with this option through Terminal.

Running MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina), 2.5Ghz Dual i5, 16GB RAM
