Full Plate made of Mithral doesn't change to Medium Armor

Armors made of Mithral should change their types (as in the description itself). However, Amiri can't equip a Full Plate of Mithral. She should be able to, as that armor would change to a Medium Armor and Barbarians wear Medium Armor.

"Heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light. This decrease does not apply to proficiency in wearing the armor. A character wearing mithral full plate must be proficient in wearing heavy armor to avoid adding the armor’s check penalty to all his attack rolls and skill checks that involve moving."

Unfortunately mithral does not provide proficiency.

Mithral Full Plate Armor are threated as medium, but for use you need feat Heavy armor proficiency.

It's not so useless! It does cut down the weight of the armor and lower the Armor Check Penalty by 3. If medium armor is made out of mithral its treated as light so you don't take a movement speed penalty in it anymore. There are upsides (:

Its the most powerful armor in the game.

Lots of classes benefits from medium armor, including barbarian fast movement.

The +3 Max dex beats everything late game.

It is still more useless than I thought. I agree with all you said but the fact that it doesn't allow someone with medium armor to wear it as I thought it allowed made it more useless.

Mithral breastplate is best armor for all character with medium armor proficiency. Better may be only special uniqe armors.
