Entangle status effect and ability reduction seems to persist due to saving/loading

So I finished a battle where I had cast Sickening Entangle over a group of enemies and the entangle effect was still present at the end of the battle. I saved the game (quicksave) and for a reason I don't recall I ended up reloading.

At some point during this process I came to realize that the -4 DEX and movement reduction portion of the effect seems to have persisted on a couple of my party members even though there is no in-game marker on the character portrait, I only see the -4 marked on the DEX stat on the character status window.

I do remember that the visual effect of the spell had also vanished when I reloaded, but I'm thinking that the status effect portion didn't get removed and perhaps my characters aren't getting to save to remove it because it's now gone?

Forgive me if I'm missing something game mechanics-wise here. I've tried using a couple different scrolls and whatnot (Dispel magic, Break Enchantment, Cleanse, Remove Sickness). I'm just going to end up reloading from a couple encounters prior and playing through it again, but I don't think this is an intended effect or at the very least it is not clear as to how someone should proceed to fix this in-game.

If it matters, this was the second part of 'A Warm Welcome from the League" where I had tracked my assailant back to their camp and afterwards gained a pair of new companions.

Oh also, a heavy rainstorm was also happening at the same time. Which I think also applies a movement debuff?
