Game is stuck on intro loading screen...

I bought the game yesterday, installed it, and it wont get passed intro loading screen. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and the same thing is happening. Please help, this game looks beautiful.

Do you mean when the banner comes up and the progress bar stops after it barely gets going? If so, don't do anything, don't touch the mouse or keyboard. Wait. It takes a long time, but will eventually load. If you touch the keyboard or mouse, it will lock up. I had the exact same issue. I guess only patience works until this is fixed.

It happens every time for me, but my laptop is somewhat barebones, so I figured it was just me. Doesn't stop the game from loading eventually, though, and it plays just fine after.

It is a major issue and they can easily fix it in the first patch with a simple fix. On the first screen:

PLEASE WAIT... LOADING.

Known issue and they're working it. I rebooted after install and loaded the game. That initial load at the splash screen took probably 3 minutes or so to get past but its well worth it. Great game and true to the module series and pathfinder rules set.

Every time. Takes about 4 minutes to load, with a SSD. Needs fixed.

Yeah it ended up working, Thanks for the Tip! I do have it on SSD and it still takes about 3-5 minutes to load, as stated though; well worth it.

Stuck at loading screen

I get stuck at loading screen and cannot close the game or even alt tab out of it. I have reinstalled and checked the integrity. This game ran fine for for me for months. I quit playing for a while and it no longer works. My GPU is up to date. Any suggestions?

Try this...

Change graphic setting to borderless fullscreen. There are a few ways to do it, for me it was in the Geforce Experience graphic option of the game.

or this way

1) press win+r
2) type regedit
3) go to
HKEY_CURRENTUSER\Software\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Kingmaker
4) Open the Kingmaker.FullscreenMode* line
5) Change "1" to "3" there

Verify the integrity of game files from steam and look if you can update your GPU driver.

And there is a third way that i haven't try yet but seem to work for many.

Go to the Kingmaker.exe. Right click and go to Properties, Click on the Compatibility Tab, Select Disable fullscreen optimizations and hit Apply. Load the game.

The Kingmaker.exe is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pathfinder Kingmaker

game started to stuck just before the title screen

For some reason my game stop working now. It starts as usuall and doesnt resume to the screen where you choose load, save etc screen. Anyone has similar happenings recently?

Check if you have any GPU drivers update first.

The most common issue is the fullscreen setting. Basically Exclusive fullscreen will crash or lock the game in endless loading screen. Try set it to fullscreen borderless or just window mode.

If you can't reach the main menu of the game to change the fullscreen setting, try one of these methods.

Use GeForce experience or similar program where you can change game options without loading the game. Load it and go change the display setting for Fullscreen borderless.


This way

1) press win+r

4) Open the Kingmaker.FullscreenMode* line

(this method will set it to window mode, so you might want to change it to Fullscreen borderless once in the game.)
