Ancient Curse 4 Bogeyman hard crash

On the Ancient Curse Part 4 fight back at the bald hilltop, as soon as the Bogeyman wave spawns and I engage them, my game hard crashes. A crash logger looking thing pops up with no additional info and then the game closes out.

TLDR; The Bogeymans' most dangerous ability is hard crashing your game on engagement.

Update: It was also storming heavily on my map. The crash repeated several times, so I tried camping before entering. Sunny weather when I came back in and I completed it without issue.

Maybe too much going on with the stormy weather and the effects from their crazy double dark wave of phantasmal killer?

Same issue now, I will try resting as you did.

Edit: hard crash when the bogeymen appear. Up to that point, everything is smooth and fine. Took graphics down, smoke+fog animation off, nothing helps.

I can't proceed with anything until this is done so I guess it's time for another playthrough and HOPE this won't occur again.

It is certainly too much going on because when I summon a Bogeyman with SMVII they immediately have a fear aura and instacast a quickened spell and a normal spell. To those affected I'd suggest to try and save before fight, then have the fight be the first thing you do after a fresh restart.

My save opens up on the bald hilltop map, it is just 10-15 meters before the fight scene. I don't know what to do anymore with this so I started a new playthrough and HOPE it will be fixed somehow.

I too was having this, even after resting to get better weather. I hadn't had logging turned on yet, so did that and loaded up to try again and this time it worked.

The battle seemed different somehow, though, as I don't recall ever seeing the bogeymen.

I have four party members doing ranged/spell attacks and I had them concentrating on Leafless Lady as soon as I noticed her and let the other two and two animals take care of everything else before also turning to Leafless lady.

I had the same problem but I tried camping and it worked fine, I noticed that it always crashed when the Bogeymen appeared and I had cast Tar Pool, Elemental Wall and Blade Barrier where the Nymp appeared and if I paused the game. The funny thing is that the times the game did crash it was sunny but after camping it was raining.

After numerous crashes, I finally managed to get past this fight, and then the game crashed while quick saving....

Then, after taking a few days to cool off, I got past the fight again (after yet another crash). It seems that if I cast too many spells, the game would crash, and if I attacked the leaf lady before the bogeymen, the game would also crash. So not buffing and just autoattacking everything and killing leaf lady last - I made it. And I was able to save my game and never look back.

Bump up, another playthrough, still happening. I managed to get past by reloading around five times, but you can imagine my frustration. That, and the hard freezes during autosaves just did it for me. Quitting until ♥♥♥♥ is fixed.
