Log in to Steam and click on Library.
Right-click on the game, select Uninstall..., and then Delete.
Insert the first disc into your computer.
Close Steam (Steam > Exit).
Press Windows Key + R to open Run
In the Run window type:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E:
Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct.
Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location.
Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.
The setup starts the installation from the 1st disk. After "allocating disk space" but without installing a single bite, it asks for disk 2. Once disk 2 to is in, it immediatly asked for disk 3. Once that is in it starts downloading.
Try to use the "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -install E: command and don't work.
I have installed from DVD before, so I know the correct path.
Begin to install, then quickly go to DVD 2 and 3 and... nothing.
Don`t install and proceed to download the whole game.
Why sold in physical support, if it doesn't work? Not all people have access to high-velocity internet.
That´s not true for other games though.
For example X-com. The last time I installed that, i could install it fom dvd, even though I bought the DVD day one. When the instalation from DVD was finished, steam downloaded the patches and DLC after that.
Huh, IIRC they did change something in how that worked in a Steam update, but when I was on a contract in November last year I bougth ELEX from a physical store. Since this was a week after the game came out all that I could basicaly install after the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ first patch was the voice packs, the rest had to download via mobile internet. Basicaly doubled the cost, would have been cheaper to buy from Steam directly :/
