Pathfinder: Kingmaker
Wait, what happened to Tristian? (Vordakai's Tomb last fight help!)
I was able to get him to destroy Vordakai's eye, but then he was blinded and disappeared into a portal. Do I get him back eventually or what? Is he gone forever? Can I prevent this? Is it a bug that causes a result where he takes the eye instead of destroying it? Because, Vordakai mentioned his eye being "stolen" multiple times after Tristian destroyed it and then disappeared. I swear, if I have to crawl through Vordakai's Tomb again...

I don't think its a bug considering next quest is either "Do you go to deal with barbarians or go to candlemere to see what Tristian is up to"
Perhaps, but there's contradictory text, where it says he smashed the eye beneath his feet after fighting off the urge to keep it, and then after he disappears in the portal blinded somehow, Vordakai says he "stole" it, implying that he didn't destroy it and made off with it. And since I don't want to permanently lose him, I'm basically stuck.

Well he WAS just blinded, I don't think he can tell the difference
Based on Linzi's narration after leaving the dungeon though, it HAS to be a bug. "Alas, our friend revealed himself to be an enemy! How could you Tristian? We trusted you!" Considering he didn't take an evil artifact for himself, this is straight up wrong.

No, its not a bug. Reason why they think he betrayed you is because he summoned same type of portal bloom did(I know that based on Linzi's journal on the questline to follow betrayer), so he is clearly connected to whatever was causing it.(also, he WAS gonna steal it before you convince him otherwise)

I tested what happens afterwards if you go after Tristian and it clearly refers him destroying Oculus

Well that's idiotic, because now I have no Councilor and have no way of getting another.
Well, if you go to do Tristian's quest you recruit him back.

That said, I'm glad I recruited the lamashtan cleric from that one quest on whim as advisor because I had back up advisor <_< Really surprised that worked out well
I was super confused by this when it happened. I had no idea what he had done. Luckily his quest that you get afterwards clears it up. Also I was mega glad I'd ditched him for the Lamashtu priestess, which I felt really bad about at the time, but she had a higher score, especially when my regent walked out right after xD

So we dont loose Tristian? Where can I meet again?
Immediately after Varnhold Vanishing (edit: after you return to the throne room), you get two main quests: Go help Brevoy repel the barbarian invasion (Hour of Rage) and go to Candlemere Tower to pursue Tristian (Betrayer's Flight). You have to choose which one to do first. There are consequences to which ever one you put off (personally I think the consequences are more dire if you put off helping Brevoy). However, regardless of whether or not you go after Tristian first or second, he will once again be available as an advisor and party member.

The first part of the barbarian quest is one area and pretty short, so you can get Tristian back by moving on to Betrayer's Flight within 1-2 weeks of in-game time (mostly depending on travel time). Kassell, if he's an advisor, and Amiri will both also bugger off to help Brevoy/meet up with the barbarians. You'll also get them back pretty quickly.
