i defeated it. my biggest advice to those who find this thread:
get as much speed as you can. in this case lantern king cant do anything harmful cause only thing he do is warping

did you really require 5 hours only to beat the lantern king? is this correct? also, did you have nyrissa on your side?

Yea wave 3 got me too. AOE dominate, AOE install kill on all my summons, 55AC where he just sniped all my mages while i whiffed over and over, and multiple Break Enchant were NOT working so my Vivisectionist just murdered my entire party over and over. I gave up and dropped it to Story Mode where it was joke. Totally disappointing ending but par for the course for this game.

I remember the ending of Planescape: Torment. Where you could put all the abilities and knowledge you earned in the game to the test. You could convince the final boss his struggle was futile. You could overpower him by will alone if you had that kind of power. You could end it in a murder-suicide to destroy him forever, or call on your companions to aid you.

Here? Naaah, none of that. We gotta have our super duper final boss with jacked up stats and able to spam instant "You lose" spells.

Same can happen here.

that's correct, there are many endings and in some of those you can ally with the LK, make some sort of deal, try to defeat him, and so on.
