Only a developer can answer that :(
I've seen a thread where someone else was asking. His/her English was rather poor and the guy was uh... "impatient", but I checked his achievements and he did get the achievement.
If he is the one i think he did almost 20 runs and i think the honest guy upgrade his shop(not by much) each times you retire a group. Could it be a achievement you receive after X amount of times?
It's supposed to upgrade his shop each time you clear 5 floors (something about killing the "mini-bosses" in each of those 5 floors). I'm a little curious as to how many floors I would need to clear for this achievement though...
Were you able to successfully complete the achievement?
According to the in-game description, the shop's mechanics work like this[imgur.com]. If the shop's inventory is solely influenced as the in-game explanation dictates, then players should not need to retire their characters and start over. Supposedly, defeating a Lost Hero will expand Xelliren's supplies (after informing him of a Lost Hero's defeat), and the expanded inventory will carry over to the next playthrough the expanded inventory will carry over to the next playthrough [imgur.com]. My understanding of the in-game descriptions, is that game difficulty and and number of playthroughs-retired characters-have no influence on this achievement (supposedly). Regardless, I'm also playing on Unfair difficulty, I have not cleared nearly as many floors as yourself just yet, only 111 so far; made a duplicate save as a backup and progressed the story.
Anyways, that's my interpretation of the in-game descriptions we've been provided. I hope someone will share more precise information.
No, I gave up several months ago. I had gone past floor 100, beaten the true final boss, all on unfair difficulty (no mods). If that wasn't enough to get the achievement, then I didn't know what else I could do.
Bummer. I think I've progressed to 216. My player file says that the vendor's additional items is 35. I don't know if it has to be 50, or 100 to unlock, but it's becoming increasingly brutal. A couple floors are causing strangely low FPS. One in particular, a green-gas type floor, dropped my FPS to 1; I changed all settings to minimum and it remained 1. Soon as I progressed to the next floor my FPS returned to normal. Haven't experienced it since. Very bizarre. I think I'll just continue to plug away at it little by little. If I do eventually complete it, I'll share the number of floors required/additional items unlocked for other people scouring the internet for answers. Cheers.
Good luck! I was stuck on Floor 110 on Unfair. There were like 10 super invincible Wild Hunt Monarchs in a room that were just destroying my team. I tried reading a thread a while back by someone who was also trying to get the Honest Looting achievement. He was a non-native English speaking player and I couldn't really understand a lot of what he was trying to say, but it seems he went to like floor 400 or something and still did not get the achievement. I later checked his profile and it appears he DID manage to get the achievement, but I believe he had to contact the developers/admins to discover the exact achievement criteria. Let me see if I can find the thread.
Edit: Here it is
https://steamcommunity.com/app/640820/discussions/5/1643169167160973189/?ctp=3
OP posts about not having gotten the achievement despite making 15 or so runs, some of which were apparently past floor 100 or 200.
If you check the OP's profile, it shows that he got the achievement 7/23/19, a day after Wooden Dragon apparently sent him a message containing the achievement criteria.
Edit2:
The below link is apparently an image of the dev sending the OP of other thread the requirements. As you can see, the requirements are really easy and pretty much anyone who killed all mobs up to floor like 50? should have completed this quest. Unless boss refers to one of the four mini bosses that appear only once per run (in that case 10 runs minimum).
Er, the link gets removed so you can search instead. It should be the first baidu link.
Requirements: Kill 10 bosses and expand loot table to 10.
Reading some of the posts on that baidu thread, apparently anyone who was playing a save prior to 2.0.6 straight up could not get the achievement because it was bugged.
Good research, I would find it very surprising if that were the case-only 50 floors. I'll look at the Baidu page when I have more time. Here[imgur.com] is some digging I did myself from various save files. I'm willing to believe that the number of runs ("Delves") is a factor in fulfilling the achievement's requirements, yet it feels like it shouldn't given the in-game descriptions I provided; the code's distinction between the two variables is interesting as well. I wonder if the "50" may refer to the additional main vendor variable. It seems my number should be higher too, maybe I missed some of the elites during my progression?
It's evident from the new image I provided, that the limit of items from Xelliren is not based on the dialogue following a Lost Hero's defeat, suggesting the value can continue to increase.
If the fact of the matter is that we must fulfill the requirements as you have shared, then I am honestly flummoxed. Completing 10 or more playthroughs on Normal difficulty will be a cakewalk compared to grinding hundreds of floors on Unfair; Rampage
To victory!
I only have like 8 playthroughs, which would explain why I haven't gotten the achievement if it requires 10 playthroughs. However, people had over 20 playthroughs and were still unable to unlock that achievement. One of the posts on the baidu page mentions that the person ended up starting a completely fresh save without importing any previous saves after the 2.0.6 update and then they proceeded to get the achievement on their 4th playthrough. I'm a tad bit more inclined to simply believe that everyone who was playing prior to the 2.0.6 update got trolled by a bug since the requirements seem real easy.
Agreed, I also saw mention of that fourth playthrough following the patch.
I'm simply grateful someone else in the community is also curious. I'm looking forward to when I have the time to test this out.
I uninstalled a while back (had to free up space on my SSD) but I might re-install and test it out at some point in the future. I'll let you know if I manage to get it to work. Anyways, keep me posted and good luck!
I reached a mainvendor value of 50 during my 9th delve, I saved, exited game, etc, yet nothing unlocked. I retired the character, reached divinevendor value of 10 during my 10th delve, saved game, etc, and nothing unlocked. Pretty frustrating.
Taking a look at the player.json in hopes of finding something. There's a portion for achievements with IDs, T/F values, and numerical values; the ID of one of them says 'true' for unlocked with a "counter" value of 10, which would match my divine vendor value perfectly. Hoping to piece together things myself before reaching out to OwlCats.
Bonus news:
The "mainvendoradditional" variable changes differently than I initially interpreted. Instead of being like a high score where one must start from the beginning if they wish to best it, subsequent playthroughs contribute additively to the mainvendor variable. Thus we need not delve to asinine depths.
Here's to hoping they figure out why this achievement is bugged. Kind of insane that it's still at 0.1%.
