there is no machines with robots. Alchemist with potions and bombs is the closest.

There are a lot of steampunk type games out there King maker isn't one of them. The alchemist here at best do a limited variety of frankenstein type things with the vivisectionist class.

"D&D-like" means different things to different people.

If you mean a cRPG, Arcanum is an old one but a good one. And there are a couple Steampunk cRPGs in the works right now, but haven't released yet (and I'm not sure how well they'd fit what you want to do).

Also, I'd check out the Unfinished Business mod for Solasta. I believe it has an Artificer-like class with "robot" pets that launch attacks at enemies and whatnot. At least it *did* a while ago, but the mod frequently changes.

D&D Online is a whole different kind of game (MMO, you generally control a single character and then potentially a pet and a mercenary NPC), but it's... Well, based loosely on D&D 3rd edition, with Pathfinder 1st edition being based off D&D 3.5, so there're some similarities in terms of statistics, feats, classes and the like. D&DO is based primarly in the Eberron setting, which is very magitech steampunk.

As such, it has an Artificer class that's one of the earlier inclusions, complete with repair spells (can either play as a Warforged, the local take on android, or engineer yourself to be partially construct to benefit), electrical attack spells, buffs, a mechanical dog companion (who's actually pretty tanky at low levels), and the ability to become so fast at loading and firing a repeater crossbow that it turns into a renaissance-era assault rifle or turn a great crossbow into the equivalent of a semi auto. Oh, and lock-busting and trap-disabling, too. Great solo class IMO, so-so for groups in the meta.

On the downside, the game's pretty ancient and the playerbase isn't as big as it used to be - and it was never exactly the frontrunner to begin with. Graphics are a bit dated, and the game's moved a bit further from its 3rd edition roots over time. Still, free to try out.

Only in the sense that to a greater or lesser extent any rpg is more or less vaguely D&D like. I second the mention of arcanum.
