How random is this game outside of creating your Character

All of the treasure is pre-generated, and not random at all. You'll find all of the same stuff in all of the same places in every play through. There are some random encounters you might get into while traveling the map, but those are determined pseudo-randomly from an encounter table which is itself finite, but there are different encounter lists in different areas of the map. You might defeat all the bandits in their hideout, then later hit a random encounter against bandits, for example, because it's still on the random encounter table for that region. Kingdom management has different problems and opportunities that crop up over time, and which ones you get at which time is also pseudo-randomized, but only from a relatively small list of those that are possible given that timeline of the game, what act you're in, etc. The most random thing is the attack dice rolls, which are published in the combat log as ("roll you got" vs "roll you needed to hit") and even they seem to roll (1 vs 2) a lot more often than the 1 time out of 20 that the odds would indicate.
