should I take a fighter dip
I know its not the optimal build but I wanted to do a plague druid build. I have one level of monk and one for vivisectionist (I like the potions). should I take a level of fighter for martial weapon proficiency so I can use glaives and so that I can get two feats quickly or should I just stick to druid. I will lose out on one caster level and one level 9 slot but ill also have destruction domain so ill still have a slot for tsunami anyways.

Is your druid build a close combat are most purely caster if you primarily stay back and cast the fighter dip is not optimal and likely not useful most of the time if he is an up front fighter, especially if human the fighter dip would have been better at level 1 where you get three feats

basically Im writing a book about a guy who has control over "disease" (it amounts to bacteria and viruses) and he can do things like move very fast and swing a glaive really hard, I was hoping to make it a more melee focused build. I Know the "optimal" build order would have been to go fighter> monk> and druid but I like the viv potions and the sneak attack is nice. but long story short its mostly a melee focused build. the character in the story uses a glaive and I was theming him around that and I was thinking the fighter dip would save me three levels later on because I get martial weapon prof as well as a free fighter feat.

*he cant move very fast, hes actually got poor fine motor skills... but he hijacks a fungus into creating a bioelectric field around him that makes him very hard to hit. the fungus reacts to things entering his safe space very quickly.

If you're playing on normal difficulty and mostly going for roleplay, then you can do pretty much whatever you want and just correct any 'less than optimal' builds with the rest your party composition.

Generally speaking you don't want to hobble your caster level too much unless you're mostly abandoning it in favor of being more martial. It's usually more beneficial to have the benefits of high caster level ASAP than access to a weapon proficiency unless you have a specific goal in mind. IE: Required feats to further your build in other ways.

I'd probably just burn a feat for martial weapon proficiency and maintain spell progression, personally.
its totally fine - and I would even encourage to.

I now play on Challenging with my main being pure Defender of the true world - originally intended as summoner. But majority of time I dont need cast anything than buffs and only very occasional summons and jsut work as off-tank and frontliner anyway.

Still as weapon I am stick with Claw of Bear god, in fact planned to since very beginning because the Bear is.. a Beast.

It is choice you make at beginning with Nature bond - either you choose some nature domain or animal companion.

Exception is Nature domain that allow have companion on lvl 4 (that is my case - it go on par wit standard with Boon companion feat) and I think Plague druid can not have companion at all too (but saving this one for swarm run in WoTR)

Companions are very powerful in Kingmaker, heck the one on picture is not even fully buffed and having stats on par with fully geared and leveled Valeria (just with slightly lesser attack and less attacks per round but thats about it) - its lkike getting another competent party member for free (and also never worry about carry weight:p

Also the Claw of Bear god is rare scimitar which benefit Bear companion specifically.

Alright off topic but maybe yall can answer... why does my monster tactician have access to arcane strike? Shouldnt I only be able to use that if I have arcane casting? their god is torag and they have the artifice domain.

Any mod? I do not use any other than kingdom resolve and if I create same char, arcane strike is not available, cus abiulity to cast arcane spells is not possible.

no I dont have a mod. it was right after I started a new game.

yeah I rebooted the game and made a new character (I saved the other one) and it wont let me select it. should I just keep playing with my arcane striker? will it even get stronger?
