Not sure if I can continue.... (SPOILERS)
This game has been so awesome up until now. (Other than the auto-fail timed quests) But now, I am confused and disappointed. I don't know what to do. My goblin friend wants to be free to worship his Lamashtu goddess with some cute little shrines outside my capital. But it says I have to be "chaotic evil" to allow him this and I am a Lawful Good Aasimar Angelkin paladin. It says I have to say to destroy the shrines with a threat of imprisonment to stay in character. This seems wrong to me. Freedom of religion is important to me. Why can't we respect the rights of my goblin subjects? So now I do not know which choice to make or whether I can even continue playing this game....

The auto-failing hunt thing early in the game was frustrating.

The auto-failing armag tomb is equally frustrating...

The swordlord Jamori Aldori hating me for taking too long is also frustrating....

There is now an event card to build a royal hunting ground so I am hopeful that will finally allow me to visit the hunting grounds that I was locked out of long ago. But I am really unhappy with the choices with the goblin. Because if I do the chaotic evil choice (which would be WAY out of character for me) will I lose all my paladin bonuses? I don't want to tell him to destroy his cute Lamashtu shrines, but I can sense a lot of potential issues with my other advisers and kingdom if I don't....... :(

On a side note, just finally upgraded to city and pretty happy with the cute 4th wall breaking library full of pre credits for the creators

***Update: I finally decided to do the "Chaotic Evil" option and let my goblin friend keep his shrines and worship his goddess. That seemed like the right thing to do for me. I don't care if they think it is a chaotic/evil choice. I believe that is wrong. And Tristian got mad at me for it, but frankly, Tristian's opinions no longer matter to me. He is still my cleric and councilor, but he made plenty of evil decisions of his own. I forgave him because he is a powerful companion and I understood his reasons and he is useful as an adviser. I feel good about my choice. Nok-Nok was really happy with me and that made me happy! :) And it didn't seem to make me lose my powers as a lawful good paladin or anything so that's cool.

My biggest example of this is when you are selecting the kingdom management cards. There should be some kind of explanation / warning on the cards which force you to skip days vs. the ones where you just assign an adviser and it completes after a certain amount of game days automatically.
There is such a warning. Any one of those that require baron to be present will keep you occupied. You can see your portrait right on the card. And you are told how many days the joined effort will take.

The way that cards work is they are added on the 1st and 14th of every month. Events that stay unresolved for a month are failed. And so are the ones that your advisors fail the roll on, obviously.

P.S. I am not even sure if I am receiving the bonus from completing the horse event because there is no icon in my kingdom management screen showing this bonus. There are about 10-15 other bonuses listed there but not the horse (20% movement) bonus even though I completed the card. Might be a bug....would really suck that I damaged my kingdom so much for an upgrade if I don't even get the benefit from it....lol
I honestly don't remember if royal stable thing works so that one I can't help you with.

It's a game of consequences. Everything you listed are things happening because you chose to act a certain way.
As to gobbo thing, you can ignore the alignment thing if you so desire. It won't suddenly shift you to evil or something. And even if it somehow will there are atonement scrolls.

yeah I think you can be like "you be you, gobboboi"
but in general yeah this game has a lot of frustrating parts you kinda need to deal with. I get ya.

It's possible the OP is familiar with games like Baldur's Gate where paladins couldn't commit any evil acts without "falling." in Kingmaker evil acts bump you a bit toward evil but you'd have to make evil choices a fair number of times before you'd be bumped enough to actually change alignments.

As to why helping the cult of Lamashtu would be considered an evil act, it's mainly because she directs her flock to destroy humanity[pathfinderkingmaker.fandom.com] and replace it with her spawn. For that reason her teachings generally aren't tolerated in good-aligned kingdoms.

tbh lamashtu and demons did more good for my kingdom than any other 'good' gods. I wish I could establish official worship to them. Everything tagged good in this game is just an a-hole.

If you want to stay in character, then in my opinion, it's hard to reconcile being a paladin and letting nok-nok build lamashtu shrines around your capital.

Nok-nok may be "cute" but lamashtu is an evil goddess, formerly a demon if i got the pathfinder lore right. As a DM i wouldn't let a paladin do that, because paladins are supposed to have a very rigid moral code which doesn't leave much wiggle room for interpretation.

Now in P:K, you can support nok-nok, and you won't be punished for it. It's all a matter or roleplay and how you want to play your character, because the game is extremly lenient with alignement, which i think was a good call on the devs part.

Thank you for all of your comments. I made a decision before reading them to allow Nok-Nok to have his shrine and worship his goddess. It may not have been the best "staying in character" choice, but it is something that I am really passionate about in real life (Freedom of Religion / Freedom of Speech) being a proud veteran patriot 1st amendment lover United States citizen. :)

I am happy that this decision didn't seem to hurt me in the game. If I have to kill some more crazy cultist Lamashtu followers later and summoned demons than all the better (extra exp and loot for me)

I'm not trying to make you feel guilty or anything about your choice, i always let nok-nok worship lamashtu myself but here's my question, just for fun :

If we knew for a fact that demons actually existed (real nasty ones, like eating babies, unleash plagues for fun ones), would you still be confortable with the 1st amendment allowing people to worship them, making them stronger in the process ?

The way we typically handle the 1st amendment in the United States is that you are free to worship whomever or whatever you wish and however you wish as long as you are not causing harm to another. So in your example, it would not be okay because by the practice of worshiping they are making their evil god / goddess stronger in a tangible way to cause harm to others. This would be something easier to prove in a RPG world where magic exists and the gods reveal themselves in more tangible ways. In our world, it becomes much more complicated because of matters of faith and more intangible religious effects. It can become quite convoluted because it is rarely black and white in terms of decision making or causing harm to others.

So in your example where we know for a fact that demons / gods exist and do tangible harm to others, the 1st amendment would probably have to be thrown out the door and gods / demons would be thrown into national security decisions instead of religious decisions.

Yeah it was obviously an hypothetical question that doesn't apply to the real world, where everyone should be free to worship his/her/its imaginary friend.

But in a DnD / Pathfinder setting, something equivalent to the liberty of cult is a very different concept, tho i believe some regions still uphold it.

It seems to me that in the US there is a very large cult that worships an orange-skinned demon.

Lawful Good and freedom to worship any god does not go together. (Not in Pathfinder that is)

Depends on the table, tbh. Some would see freedom as an ultimate good and law should support it to be LG. Some see LG as a nazi genocidal maniac with the "greater good" as exuse. The latter is how PK seems to interpret it. In fact, 'good' in this game means treacherous a-hole. And evil means reliable person who would go through hell to help you. I sometimes wonder wtf messed up morals the writers for the game had.

Behead those who insult Lamashtu.

There's a whole litterature about how LG kingdoms can tend to this extreme, not just in pathfinder. It's a way to justify seeking balance as a sane choice i guess, as opposed to any extreme that ends up being bad.

if you're a veteran then didn't you have to follow rules in the military? or has it changed that much now to accommodate all the crybabies?

CG, CN, CE are all there for those who want to be in this particular fantasy setting and not follow rules..

if you want to be in a world that is biased towards relativism, self interest and sissies who want their every derangement held up as something worthy of notice you can walk out your front door.

LE, LN, LG are choices for those who value law.
