Some interogations on Gyronna and Nethys
Well, i guess they have a more detailled lore in the book, but wtf with those two ?

Let's start with Gyronna, the way her presentation is done induce to think she's a kind of protector of the oppressed, the marginalized, the poor souls unjustly abused by the "good" society. She give them strenght to cope, and by a just return of karma, to restore justice by swapping young babies for hideous monstrous creatures birthed from her priestess's womb... wait wait wait... WHAT ?

How could it ever be a bright idea to do anything like that ? :steamfacepalm:

So in the end her credo is : "Hate us, you're right !" ?

And Nethys... this guy is a god of magic, but ingame the only way to propagate his divine word is to play a cleric ? A CLERIC, a guy with so much NO magic that he has to rely on someone else's! :steammocking:

Gyronna is literally a goddess of madness so what do you expect? Her domains are Madness, Chaos, Destruction and Evil; nothing about justice or Karma. She also reminds me of Skaen in Pillars of eternity. Being oppressed does not make someone a good person. Often quite the opposite.

For Nethys, you can make a Mystic Theurge. That would be the best god for that prestige class. Or play a race with natural magic abilities.

3 things wrong with this statement:

1- Clerics absolutely have magic, as much as wizards. They cast spells just like wizards and sorcerers and they get 9th level spells on top of that, just like wizards and sorcerers. The only difference is they cast divine spells not arcane. Given Nethys is the god of all magic, including divine magic. This is absolutely wrong.

2-You don't have to be a cleric to be a devout worshiper of a deity, so nothing stops a wizard, sorcerer or whatever other arcane spellcaster from going around preaching the worship of Nethys.

3-Nethys is a notoriously uncaring and absentee god in the lore. He never speaks to his followers directly, never interacts with them directly and other then granting his clerics their spells, he doesn't communicate with them in any fashion other then sending a reprentative every once in while, he leaves his followers to their fates. This is explicitly part of the doctrine of his faith according to the lore. More so, Nethys is reputed to be at least partially insane in the lore, hence even on the very rare occasions he does bother to send a messenger or act, his actions are often contradictory, incomprehensible or otherwise impossible to understand.

So yeah this statement is flat out wrong accross the board.

Nethys is probably the strongest deity as he's the only one with actual omniscience. Too bad he's also schizophrenic and has extreme mood swings. He can talk to other gods but he's not exactly a stabilizing element for anything long-term.

This is the reason his heralds have almost total freedom. They CAN communicate with him as the Arcanotheign shows in this game and get accurate replies but others not so much. He never talks directly to his followers, probably because the first few attempts did not go exceedingly well.
