Different classes have different weapon proficiencies ... now I don't play druids so I don't remember what proficiencies they get off the top of my head but that's the first thing I thought to check.

Now, assuming I'm right and you simply don't have the proficiency there are two ways to get it, either spend a feat or take a level of a class that does get the proper proficiency ... which is less costly depends on the build you are going for.

Play an Elf and you'll be able to use a Bow. Otherwise Druids get slings (not in the game) and... that's it?

Lmao. What's a feat? I'm sorry I began playing an hour ago.

And can I change class and then to back to my druid class?

I don't mean to be rude but I honestly think you'll have a better and more fun time if you take a couple of hours to familiarize yourself with the basics of Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 and more specifically the Pathfinder rules.

The reason I suggest this is because the game does a pretty fair good of translating the tabletop rules to computer so it's a good idea to have a basic idea if what the game expects you to know before booting up.
It doesn't say you own the game right now, did you refund it? If not and you're family sharing it, I'd say just start over, an hour of this game should be quick to get passed if you speed through the text you already read. You'll have to wait a while till you can respec you character, but I don't remember if you can respec your initial class and you may or may not be stuck with Druid. Not being able to respec your initial class might be from a different game though, and there are mods for the game so it's not the end of the world if that is the case though.

You can own the game on a different service... I own it on GOG personally, but Steam has better forums.

Martial Weapon Proficiency is name of the feat.
You choose class every level. You can do 20 levels of Druid, as well as 1 of every class. So you can start as Druid, on 2nd level pick Fighter to get proficency, and then choose druid for rest of the levels.
Elf race always can use bow no matter the class.

Np.lol. I'm learning all that too at the same time. Any good basic intro you recommend? I already know the old d&d rules. Version 3 i think.

Ty. When you are creating your character do you remember where you can check these?

When you select class on the right there is detail of everything class gets at each level.

Ranger is a much better class than Druid, overall. You get bows, which you can get really good with, and an animal companion, and some decent spells that you can buff yourself and your animal companion with. Unless you're really looking forward to proving everyone wrong about how bad the Druid is as a class, I'd start over with a Ranger. That, or if you want to be more of a spell caster, the Sylvan Sorcerer is good, and get's an animal companion at level 1.

Also, did you figure out the armor/sword puzzle in Jamandi Aldori's mansion and loot BOTH of the secret treasure rooms that it unlocks? Starting over would give you a chance to do that. There are many puzzles like that in the game,

on char creation
class selection screen

information on level 1:
blight bond
>druid proficiencies<

if you want a chill option without thinking too much, get 1 level in fighter or some other class (alignment requirements!). if you go with the fighter level, you might as well take the aldori fighter so you can use a dueling sword as an extra.

or you go with the race route, meaning elf. longbows, shortbows, rapier & longsword. also the elven curved blade becomes a martial weapon ("down" from exotic weapon), meaning if you get a level in a class that learns martial weapons (fighter, paladin, etc) or you get the martial weapon feat, you can use an elven curved blade too.

since you´ve chosen to go with a blight druid, there´s no reason to discuss what class is better since most are.

sounds complicated, but is actually pretty basic.
short version: sh*ts complicated.

There are also bracers of archery which you will pick up early in act 2 that enable you to use any bow, but those are pretty finicky and don't always work. Before somebody says it, yes, you get the lesser version of the bracers of archery sooner, but they don't allow you to use bows at all if you can't already (in my experience anyway).

Best solution has already been given: either take a class that allows for martial weapons proficiency, or take the feat.
