My Kingdom is failing and there's nothing I can do about it?
Hi, so I've been playing Kingmaker and loving it for almost 100+h. I got to the very endgame when I'm preparing to fight the you know who soon. Problem is that I'm not sure if I upgraded my advisers enough because suddenly I can't get anything else than failure or disaster on problems and opportunities. My best advisers are +22 and worse are +8. Most problems require DC40 if not more, so my chance of succeeding is either >25% or just plain 0%. Now my stats keep going down and down and my kingdom keeps failing. I can't upgrade anyone since the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ king that kept undermining me dropped most of my levels from like 190 to 120 for the main ones.My current stability is 17... is there anything I can do? I've spent over 100h in this campaign and now I can't continue because my kingdom just keeps failing. I'd appreciate any help.

We might seriously need a sticky about this topic.
First question is which chapter are you in ?
Did you focus on the main quest ? if you have too many problems to solve, it is usually because you are "slow" to solve the main quest.
Did you upgrade your KM stats regularly ?

UPgrading warden put your stability back to normal.
Max KM level in a stat is 10, meaning you need 200 in that stats to be able upgrade to 10.

check this thread (and others if necessary)

Just finished War of the River Kings and that's what mostly got me in trouble. Before I realised I'm supposed to actually go out and find the bandits/propagandists etc. My stats went waaaaay down. I upgraded main 5 regularly but the bottom 5 are around level IV or V. I can't upgrade my warden now, or anyone because of the Pitax spam and my stats just keep going down because I can't succeed on neither problems or opportunities. Even my higher level advisers like the General only get like 10-20% chance to succeed.

To be honest, i think i had to load an earlier save at this chapter because i was not finding the last of "problems" source and i kept getting issues so fast it was becoming annoying.
Once you know where you have to go, it is way quicker to solve it.
Depending on your situation, that may be a solution (not a good one, but ...)

After trying for a while I decided to just put Kingdom on auto. It's a bummer since I managed to get to the final part on Normal but I can't be bothered going back before Pitax. I'll know what to do for the next time. Thanks for your help anyway!

It doesn't sound like you finished the War of the River Kings at all if the Pitax events are still coming. You should seek out and deal with all three problem sources until the events go away. Then you will get an event that restores most of your kingdom stats. Putting it on "auto" will not help, the events will keep coming and the AI will game over for you.

Well, in the end what I did, since I posted a similar problem, was to lower the difficulty of the kingdom, I loaded a previous game and I learned that as soon as you get the main problem, you have to finish it as quickly as possible if you don't start spamming problems to the point that you can't contain them, use your supplies a lot, they save you several days of hunting, it's something I overlooked because it's my first game, but when you rest and hunt you practically lose a full 24 hours, don't waste time improving your advisors yes You have a main mission to finish, there are 14 days that you could perfectly occupy to finish the main mission and stop spamming missions, also use your gold to buy supplies for the cities, always have a total of 1000 construction points as a minimum, because ? because sometimes someone steals the treasury and leaves you with fewer points and that makes the kingdom destabilize, also improve the guardian whenever you can and keep it as a safeguard when discontent drops a lot improve the guardian and this will increase the stability of the kingdom every time you improve it, also by having construction points the treasurer can opt for a mission that costs 400 points that also improves stability, in short, do the main mission after that king you have approximately 1 year or 8 months to improve your kingdom without having spamming problems

Another thing that I forgot to add, the game takes place over approximately 5 years because generally one expects the game to open up as you progress, but the game is not like that and it is something that many newbies commit. error, the game continues to advance regardless of whether you advance in the main story or not, is that understood? No matter how much you delay the main mission, the game continues with its "invisible" timer behind it and for that reason it starts spamming missions to make you hurry up, the game is not the typical rpg that one would expect to "activate" the following ones missions if you talk to such an npc, the game continues to work and your missions are the same, I hope you understand my explanation

Not so much invisible, more unclear labeled since the main quest has a timer for the next attack.

What many new players do not catch with this game is that time progresses and events and quests progress with time even if you take no action on them. People waiting in your throne room give up and go away if left too long. NPC's that are waiting for your help die or move on. Most importantly, bad events like trolls ravaging your kingdom get worse the longer you leave them and so should be resolved as soon as possible.

Understanding this world does not stand still waiting for your actions is a sizable departure from the norm for RPG's, and while I really like it, should have been more heavily highlighted.
