Alchemist's Fire - bomb or not?

The question is using this type of "splash weapon" get any bonuses from items like Acerbic Ring "attacks with bombs deal additional 1d6 damage" and like Bombardier's Vest that "provides its wearer a +2 bonus on attack rolls with bombs and similar weapons"

If so, does it apply similar to all "bomb" bonuses from other items?

The real question is: why?

I don't think so. I believe the evidence is in the ability that lets an alchemist add alch fire or an acid flask to the effect of a bomb. It wouldn't make sense to add one bomb to another like that. Plus, anybody can use thrown items, but only alchemists get the special ability to make and throw bombs.

Should be easy enough to check by simply looking at the combat log though.

no it doesn't. it's a item, not a bomb ability

A flask of alchemist’s fire is not a bomb, so the acerbic ring bonus won’t apply. The bombardier’s vest one is a bit more vague—a bomb is (usually) a splash weapon, as is alchemist’s fire, so it might qualify as a “similar weapon.”
