Player Modules
I wonder if they will ever release an editor so we can make our own adventures for people to play int PF game?

That has one major disadvanatge-it makes it easier to figure out how to make other games that are cheaper copies of Owlcat's game.

Hmmmm.... Neverwinter did it. Both 1 and 2. ES Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim did it (to a degree). Sword coast Legends (messed up game, but they did it. Neverwinter online does it.
They would not be cheaper copies, they would be modules. Owlcat only makes the PC game, Paizio makes Pathfinder.

This is a weird take. Fan-made modules are par for the course in the genre.
I was hoping for an arena module, where I could experiment with different builds

They're Unity scenes, so I doubt it.

There's a respec mod, though, so if you want to experiment with different party comps, go wild.

If your aim was to test builds, dropping a little dosh on the Beneath the Stolen Lands DLC is fantastic for that purpose.

Seconded. If you don't check the Azlanti/Roguelike mode, and do keep copious checkpoint saves, you can load a game to a certain character/party/dungeon level and buy mercs to test a build or try something out, like I'm doing.

NWNs were made with custom engines. they made their own "mini-unity" to develop the game, so for them it was easy to release an editor for the community. With a Unity-made game it becomes much harder, because the only possibility is to allow people to use Unity to create scenes, which would force them to provide custom components for spawns and triggers which can't hide their source code. I'd say it won't happen, 99.99999% sure.

NWN was primarily designed to be a build-your-own-adventure engine, the "official" campaign was a last-minute add-on and it shows. As such NWN isn't a reasonable point of comparison.

Better to look at a game like BG which didn't providing modding tools but eventually developed a sizable mod community on the strength of a huge user base and a surprisingly large number of people who learned coding themselves in order to make those mods. If PK continues to grow its user base over time and if more of the people who ask for mods on these boards take it upon themselves to code them, the same thing could happen here.
