Scroll of Create Pit and Instant Tree Feather Tokens

Zarcie has 1 scroll of Create Pit, which none of my characters can transcribe into their spell books. Is this spell simply not learnable at all, and if so, that would make me wonder if there's a crucial point in the game where you need to use that scroll. Is there?

Bart Delgado has two pouches of instant tree feather tokens. Can these actually be deployed so as to make trees at all, or are they just there for story purposes regarding that one encounter with the lumberjacks and the nereid? He said he was leaving now that the trolls are defeated and I bought the two pouches he had for sale in case they ever come up later.

Any wizard (or any other class with spellbooks that pulls from the wizard/sorcerer spell list, if any) should be able to transcribe the spell into their spell book. And no, there shouldn't be any place where the spell is crucial. It isn't part of the base game, after all. (It was added in later with the Arcane Unleashed DLC.)

Create pit is a wizard/sorcerer spell, so a wizard should be able to transcribe it. I think the spell might have been added by one of the free DLC packages. Feasibly (but unlikely) there might be problems if you don't have that DLC - not sure why the merchant would have the scroll, if that's the case. Also, I might just be making this up and create pit has nothing to do with the DLC package.

The feather tokens are not usable items, but they have one use in the game. Even then, it's just one option for that particular situation.

I’ve heard there are some issues with that DLC not installing correctly with the rest of the game, though I’m not sure if it’s related to your problem. I would try going to the Steam store page for the DLC and manually installing from there, even if it looks like it’s already installed in the list of DLC. I had to do that when Tiger the cat didn’t show up in the headquarters stash.
