Why does my team feel so strongly about a troll?
So meet up with Dimwit with my good party, and really why? XD Its a fricking troll, we killed 10 of them on the way here, yet not caring about its fate seems like the most horrible thing I could ever do according to Octavia :steamfacepalm: and yea sure "poor" thing its getting tortured in the hopes to find some magic that really should not be that hard to get. So I tell the man "kill the beast!" seriously you have already been bitten once why the frick are you still keeping that thing.
But the valerie is all "Stop rejecting this man his rights, thats not the lawful way :(".
But here is the thing, I am the law! and if I say keeping a humanoid eating troll in your basement is forbidden, then its Caydendarn forbidden! :steamsalty:

Anyway just needed to vent about that for a bit :P Don't really have a problem with it, but I am a bit salty that it's evil to think trolls are not people.

Because they're not Josef Mengele? Torturous experimentation on sapient beings is absurdly unethical.
I don't know what's up with Valerie; that sounds LE, not LN.

Yeah I also thought it was a bit silly getting all teary eyed over a monstrous killer troll.

Tortures aren't nice. Even against evil creatures. Wizard torture troll not to find their secret lair, but mostly for completing his own personal project (= his own ambitions).

This IS evil by design in D&D / Pathfinder system.

And that was the last time I used Octavia....

But seriously you can just remove Octavia from the party, make this choice and return her non the wiser :D

The mage can become an advisor, but I don't think he will if you free/kill the troll

Being lawful does not make you the law. If you havent made a law against it already arbitrarily deciding its illegal is not the lawful way of doing so. Besides, freedom is a chaotic thing :P

He will if you have any neutrality in alignment. But who need him? Gnome is most effective treasurer because of his stats, ability to level up him & boost him with +Int gear.

Valerie more harps on you because nothing in the laws says it's illegal to perform horrific experientations on non-human sentients. While she does admit it's pretty awful, since it isn't ILLEGAL you don't exactly have any legal right to tell him to stop...

And as Valerie is LN, she really harps on you obeying the law to the letter, rather then the intent or implication. Octavia, naturally, abhors it given she was a slave for much of her life, and there's the fact that Dimwit IS sentient and is being tortured. Fits with her being Chaotic Good.

This was certainly an event that made me feel pretty sour at Valerie, but it was an interesting one.
