I ran a rouge though chap 1. It is helpful since you can put them in sneak while the rest of the party is normal. This lets you move around to try and get around badies. But over all you will get spotted before you get close enough to a sneak attack. So useful but not super useful.
But the side deal here is that you get sneak attack anytime you have flank.... Which is anytime you have a buddy attacking the same target so you don't even need sneak to get the extra damage. Heck you don't even need to be in melee.
So for just combat don't need fast stealth. And for outside of combat it has some use in scouting and getting in position. But its not a must have... heck I would not even make is a needs... more a good choice when you have a free slot to use.
