No I didn't because I have never played the Pathfinder ruleset, I am used to D&D ruleset where it doesn't cost anything like all other spells.
So you can imagine my surprise that it does. And in my defence since there is no spell list in game I cannot find out ahead of time.
I have no choice but to accept it but it is BS, just makes spells ones you use 3 or 4 times per game for *those* fights... if I remember to use them at all. Time to remove it from sorc, not wasting a slot on it, Octavia can have it if I ever use it.
Sorry all but I think it is a BS system, like magic users are not held back enough now their good abilities need to cost money?
Bleh *insert rant about how things where better back in MY DAY and getting off lawns*
Sorry to dissapoint you, but stoneskin in 3.5 requires granite and 250 gp worth of diamond dust sprinkled on the target’s skin
In 5 ed in requires diamond dust worth 100 gp, which the spell consumes
And we dont speak about 4ed.
Most spells aren't use dust/diamonds so you will always have something to cast.
Baldurs Gate didnt.
Baldur’s was a Crpg
Pathfinder is a cRPG
I feel.
I haven't yet run into any Sorc/Wizard spells with regeants, though it did take me a few days of resting to wonder why Harrim wasn't using Restoration to clear ability damage... (then I noticed the DIamond Dust cost...)
Yes you can spend money on boss encounters but as a sorc I am not learning a spell I will use 4 times. Rebuttal: Octavia will learn it instead.
Tbh I hate sometimes like if feels casters always get shafted, takes ages to get powerful and now you cannot use some of your best without coughing up the dough. Maybe should charge fighters 1000g per cleave finish?
Also this system was not in the following D&D games (which is why it caught me off guard)
BG1 + 2
IWD 1+2
NWN 1+2
Anyways, rant over.
Thank you all for your replies and suggestions
Thank you, feels better to know that the major spells will not be gated. Appreciate the answer!
