Relics to the Sacred Hall

So, I allied with the Mites and defeated the chief of the kobolds. I take it he's supposed to drop one of the relics? However, he didn't and I looked everywhere for it. I found it nowhere. I then proceeded to attack the mites queen and showed her mercy and she said she would open the gates, yet nothing happened. Have I done something wrong? I cannot continue =(

Seconded. Sootscale is dead, there is no relic. As a bonus F.U. from the game the mine cart lever is missing too, I even looked up a guide, the chest is unlootable. Did you ever figure this one out?
