Weapon Finesse
I just found an item that says, "if your character has the Weapon Finesse feats she will use the Dex modifier instead of strength" (and Yes I do have that feat)

But My own Weapon Finesse passive feat under my character sheet already says it give Dex modifier bonus.

Why is this so awfully described...

I don't know why it says "bonus" the second time but it's referring to the exact same number on your character sheet.

Yeah its super weird - why have an item that says it adds something to a feat that...already does it...?

Weapon Finesse only works for certain weapons. The quality on the weapon is the indicator that it works with Weapon Finesse.

yeah but it does work

the issue is the description with adding dex modifier instead of strength which it already does

Are you sure thats what it says and not something like: if your character has the Weapon Finesse feats she will use the Dex modifier instead of strength for damage

Since the weapon finesse by itself only allows you to add the dex to the "attack" of the weapon

Not really sure what the confusion is here.

You have the Weapon Finesse feat, either by having the feat or as some class feature.

Weapon Finesse lets you use Dex instead of Str on Attack checks, with certain weapons.

Some weapons have a trait on them that indicates they work with Weapon Finesse.

Is it a weapon and the enchant "Agile"?

In that case it should say something like this:
"Requirement: This special ability can be placed only on melee weapons usable with Weapon Finesse.

Agile weapons are unusually well balanced and responsive. A wielder with the Weapon Finesse feat can choose to apply her Dexterity modifier to damage rolls with an agile weapon in place of her Strength modifier. This modifier to damage is not increased for two-handed weapons, but is still reduced for off-hand weapons."
