What are the best/worst weapons for Weapon Focus/Specialization
The first character I made for P:K was a paladin, and knowing how important hitting things is, I gave that character both the exotic weapon mastery and the weapon focus for bastard swords, so I could sword and board. Then the other day I was reading on the boards how there weren't really any good bastard swords in the game or long swords for that matter.

That got me to wondering, what are the best and worst weapons in the game for picking a weapon focus or specialization for? Unlike a PnP game where a GM might let you switch weapons on a level up, you are kind of locked into your choices with no idea if those choices are going to pay off in the end.

Where did you find this?
Btw, there's set of Mother kukri. Iirc, another Mother's kukri is in the same location with 1d6 fire damage.

+5 Greatsword i mentioned was a drop from Dugath, who sided with defaced sisters vs me in barbarian camp (act III)

I am not saying that scimitar is the best specialization in the game but scimitar is the best specialization in the game hands down.

I've only just started Act 2, but are there ever any Bardiches? I started with one as a reach fighter (I wanted to be a reach and trip fighter, but they apparently don't even have any reach+trip weapons in the game) but have not seen any in stores or from loot. So my charcter is nearly level 6 but is still having to use a regular bardiche.

Ah, I didn't know about the Fauchard. I haven't played PnP Pathfinder for several years, and I see they just introduced it about a year ago. Thanks for letting me know! I also went back to old saves to check vendors for items they sell and which I sold to them and see that Oleg sells a masterwork fauchard, so that's nice. I haven't found or seen any other ones though but, as I said, I'm still early in Act 2. Has anyone seen any decent fauchards later in the game? If so, I'll probably have to use that respec tool to spec into fauchards.

The game still needs some kind of way to acquire magical weapons of any type though, whether that be merchants rotating random items they sell every month, the introduction of a crafting system, or being able to special order an item and having to wait a while for it to arrive.

 Battleaxe
Melee; 1d8 (20x3) [Slashing damage]

 Deadly Grace
Melee; 1d6 (18-20x2) [Piercing damage]
It’s a rapier, which critical chance is doubled, attacks with it add wielder's dexterity bonus to
damage instead of strength bonus and every time an enemy is hit with it, he must roll Fortitude
against DC 15 or be injected with acid that deals 2d4 damage every round for 3 rounds.
 Devourer of Metal
Ranged (two-handed); 50 ft.; 1d8 (20x3) [Piercing damage]
This hulking Longbow +1 looks like it was created not to slay enemies with precision, but to annihilate them with sheer power. It deals 2d6 damage and additional 2d6 damage by acid to pierce through most powerful of armors, yet its clumsiness and weight impose -2 penalty on attack with it.

The problem is without crafting or enchanting the best weapons are entirely left to treasure you find, and you don't know what the treasure is the first time you play the game.

Exactly... especially since everything in this game is specifically placed... it's not randomly generated... so there should be a file or list of all of the weapons... and reading through the .json files I do see references to inventory items, but they are just long strings of numbers and letters, like this:

"m_Inventory": {
"$id": "6",
"m_Items": [{
"$id": "7",
"$type": "Kingmaker.Items.ItemEntityArmor, Assembly-CSharp",
"m_ModifierDescriptor": "Armor",

"m_DescriptionViewed": false,
"m_FactsAppliedToWielder": null,
"m_SkinningSuccessful": false,
"m_IdentifyRolls": [],
"Collection": {
"$ref": "6"
},
"Wielder": null,
"HoldingSlot": null,
"Time": "12:00:00",
"Ability": null,
"ActivatableAbility": null,
"Charges": 0,
"IsIdentified": true,
"SellTime": null,
"IsNonRemovable": false
}, {
"$id": "8",
"$type": "Kingmaker.Items.ItemEntityWeapon, Assembly-CSharp",
"Second": null,
"m_Blueprint": "1546a05eb151d424eb9132832d5511bb",
"m_Count": 1,
"m_InventorySlotIndex": 1,
"m_Enchantments": null,
"m_DescriptionViewed": false,
"m_FactsAppliedToWielder": null,
"m_SkinningSuccessful": false,
"m_IdentifyRolls": [],
"ForceSecondary": false,
"IsSecondPartOfDoubleWeapon": false,
"IsShield": false,
"Collection": {
"$ref": "6"
},
"Wielder": null,
"HoldingSlot": null,
"Time": "12:00:00",
"Ability": null,

"IsNonRemovable": false

I believe that these indicate armor and a sword in my character's inventory, with the "blueprint" being the id of the actual item... I do not know where to look for the actual items within the files however... and searching them all, one at a time would be a real pain... but if I could find the blueprint of the item, then I could theoretically edit the weapon or armor however I wanted...
