A missing option perhaps?
Is there an option to disable/deactivate Auto-Attack. Like in PoE? So your MAGE/Sorcerer (me) don't just run in with a freaking dagger if you got that equipped, into combat after commanding a Spell attack? Look. I KNOW you can equip a Crossbow. I don't want a fragging crossbow. How about i don't want any weapons and i can cast just fine far away from the frontlines? Just saying. This is one of those games that should have that option, out of it's many other options it has and just missing that one little tidbit?

Thanks!. Sorry if i'm a little tad salty. Just frustating not see a missing option, even after searching on google if i can disable auto-attack...with no luck.

If this is an option for you: right click on one of the lv0 attacks to switch them to autocast, now the mage will use them instead of using his weapon.

Uh...what if i want to actually manually control who i target? That's also a consideration. And thanks...didn't knew they had that as a available possiblility. I knew of normal passive skills, not this.

You can also disable party AI, I mean you have all the options for your caster not to rush in.

Like other mentioned, set one of your cantrips as default attack.
Give him/her a ranged weapon.
Disable party AI.

No the options on this aspect are not as in-depth as for PoE, but so far, except when ambushed (and couple of pathfinding issues, lol) I rarely got my casters in danger, well not by them running at enemies with their fists I mean.

Did you already tried and turn off AI? It's beneath the Stealth Button, just right beside the skill list. Didn't play around with it... so i don't know if it's actually turning off all AI behaviour.

Oh. Ahh...alright. Hopefully it only turns off the AIs of those i want, like maybe mine. I let Amiri, Valerie especially crush our enemies. Amiri is broke as EFF! Linzi just...does her things. Going now to test this function.

Alright. So this works! You can deactivate each Characters AI accordingly to your wishes. Superb! Thanks! Just what i needed!
