With quicken spell metamagic though I believe it increase spell level by 4 so not that useful for color spray

There is only one way: use the metamagic feat Quicken Spell, which turns them into a free action. The price is hefty, though, you need to memorize the spell 4 levels higher, so a 1st level spell takes a 5th level slot.
Quicken is an endgame feat of course, that is sparingly used by high level casters to great effect. The alternative would a metamagic rod of that feat, which will do that effect three times per day without any level increase (and on the fly).

great.. now I need to brainstorm what is the best way to avoid random wolf ambush from behind, coz they are faster than any spells that I have and running also doesnt do much.. are there any low level instant distraction spells? Im at lvl 3 with octavia and linz, they are the only prob for ambushes coz they drop like flies...

I THINK there is one spell for wiz/sorcs that is pretty zippy out the box...Cold Ice Strike I think is the name? I believe it casts SUPERFAST all on its own. Not sure about any others but would love it if there were more like it. Just FYI...its ahigher level spell though.

Keep your front liners who aren't tanks close to your back line (also is good to turn their ai off so enemies engage with tank, thank you charge them in), and having auto pause on enemy sighted, which gives you time to run your casters towards the front liners who're running to engage the new enemies flanking

Unless there's an instantaneous spell which I don't think there is, every spell is either a standard (3 seconds), or full round (6 seconds) before the spell is cast. There shouldn't be any animations that keep going past those timers, and if there is, owlcat need to fix it
