Why is wererat so hard to kill?
I don't mind the 26 AC but how did it reduce all my damage? I'm still new to pathfinder, I'm not familiar with its weakness...

Because they have Damage Reduction. I dunno if game had silver weapons or if in crpg version its replaced by needing magic weapons, but in original pathfinder you would need silver weapons to pass werecreature dr. Also, +1 keen weapons and +2 armor imply to me you are supposed to be at least level 5 before fighting them, they have a looooot of loot

Silver weapon is not available at that point. You either use spell damage (not reduced), or use stronger attacks (enlarged Amiri with Rage on). The real trick is not to kill them, but to survive them. Especially that pesky alchemist...

In table top, we let the wizards shine. Fighters defend spellcasters, or assist barbarian's power attacks.

Btw, magic weapons only add damage, it doesn't bypass damage reduction. Well not lycanthropy DR. They are 5/Silver or 10/Silver, DR that requires magic weapons are 10/magic. Damage caused by spells bypasses damage reduction regardless. Also, elementals' damage reduction are all 5/- or 10/-, meaning nothing can bypass it, which means you will need to throw spells at them. Elder elementals also come along with SR (spell resistance), which means you are better off with spell penetration.

You can overcome silver/cold iron/adamantium DR with magic weapons but they have a set required enhancement bonus. +3 Weapons should overcome cold iron/silver DR, +4 overcomes Adamantium, and +5 overcomes alignment DR. Note that these are equivalents so a +2 weapon with flaming still counts as a +3 total enhancement modified weapon.
