You're not meant to kill the monsters, you're just meant to escape. She leaves the map as soon as she finishes talking to you, so it's not like you can find her.
My biggest problem with the nymph is that you knew she was going to do a heel turn a mile away. She's obviously the queen that the Stag Lord was talking about. She knew where he was from and how to find the secret stuff in his chest. She exploited him to deal with his father I'm guessing. She abandoned him when he got too powerful.
A good heel turn needs to be a surprise and this wasn't one of those things.
Edit: Enter the temple and wait it out there? Nope, can’t enter.
Sneak past the front door? Nope, flytrap ignores invisibility.
Fall into the ditch and crawl up the other side? Nope. Only the way back to the flytrap works.
Lure the flytrap away? Nope. No way I found that works.
I also never noticed the wall until I read about it. Bleh.
My plated Paladin got screwed so hard, so I just reverted to a older save and put a foot note about be better prepared for next atempt.
I killed the hydra easily, chugged an invisibility potion and ran towards the owlbear. Instant detection. Reloaded and chugged the potion again and ran towards the manticore. Instant detection. Climbed the wall, chugged the potion and ran towards the tree branch, instant detection by redcap.
At this point I'm running towards the branch but I can't because entanglement trap springs and catches me. So it's me crawling towards the branch and the redcap on my ass. But he doesn't land a hit. I make it down, kill the wolves and run like Forrest Gump towards freedom.
So that was my experience. My paladin of course never mentioned any of this to his companions. It keeps him awake at night though.
