Time limits question
OK, there seems to be a lot of topics about this, so what the hell, let's add some more!
I'm only at the beginning of the game, but the time pressure bugs me already, Of course, I can see the design: it is to discourage resting all the time, so no full HP between each battle, think twice if you REALY want to cast this spell now, and so on.
But then again, how bad is it? Must I buy a lot of healing potions to avoid extra rest and healing spells? Must I avoid any exploration lest I spend these extra 3 days that would allow me to make it in the end?
It isn't all that hardcore, probably, but the cost of a mistake seems too high to just relax and hope for the best.

Honestly, don't stress out about the time limit. Unless you really, really, REALLY drag your feet constantly, you shouldn't even get close to approaching the 3 month time limit in Act 1.

For Act 2, while there's more things requiring your attention (and things that'll eat up 2 weeks to do), you again have an extremely generous time limit - especially if you deal with the 'main quest' problems, which will shut off a significant number of the 'Problems' that can spawn, therefore freeing up more your time to do side quests and develop your kingdom without worry.

The time limit is more present to ensure the story progresses "realistically", but is generous enough to allow you to do basically everything anyway.

The time limit also adds a great management aspect to the game. You need to plan your expeditions and as you stated time your rests. I'm pretty far into ACT 2 and the time limit has been very generous. This is my first playthrough and for ACT 1 I had explored all of the areas available and beaten all encounters (except 1 not designed for your level) and still had 30 days left.

Its also worth noting that focusing on the 'main quest' is in your best interest, as the game won't immediately shunt you into the next leg until the time limit expires (except in Act 1, where you do have to specifically say you're leaving).

This is important, because especially when you get your barony, if you slack off on the main quest, you'll drown in Problems that will crumble your barony. But the sooner you deal with it, the sooner you basically have the rest of the time of the act to quest and develop in (relative) peace.

I have been wasting time needlessly exploring everything in Act 1 and going back to Oleg's Trade Post more times than needed and I am lvl 4 with my party, I have done most of Act 1 and I still have more than 40 days left on the timer. So don't worry.

Thank you for this! I'm on my first playthrough and in Act 2. I was planning on dragging out the main quest as long as possible. This is great to know!

Yeah, don't drag it out. The sooner you deal with the problems, the sooner Troubles they spawn will cease to spawn, allowing you to free up your advisiors to do other tasks. It's worth noting that when you clear the event, any Troubles on the board will remain.
