Report a translation problem
the problem you're finding is caused by many facts
1 there are 3 wererats in the cave , the alchemist on the bottom that throws bombs and cast displacement on himself (half on the hits on him miss automatically ) the one above that usually is hidden and have still some "honest" stat , and the second one below , that is hidden too and boy THAT IS BROKEN ! have a +15 to hit , it CRITS AT 15/20 and if it hits it gives you a -4 CA and -4 to hit , that is making me wondering that it should have 10 rogue level to do that .
then it's worth to notice that the wererat have DAMAGE REDUCTION 10/silver which means that all damage they takes are lowered by 10 points if you're not using a silver weapon and a "honest" CA of 21 that makes it hard to hit .
also the 2 rogue wererat are using a double shortsword+1 with lighting enchantments that hits like a greatsword not counting the constant sneak attack and criticals.
and it's not all , they have a +6 attack bonus , which means that every turn they attack TWICE , and they even ambush you making 3 attack the first round and if you move around them they even strike an attack of opportunity
I can easilly say that a party of 5 is underlevelled for that fight since the enemy stats in this game are so buffed .
but you can find a way through anyway
blind the lower rat to stop hitting so bad,
use silver weapon ( they doesn't have so many hp )
don't stay close to the entrance , the alchemist will bomb every single one of you and dispell its displacement buff
I mean, it's probably easy with a wizard or sorc too, but it really depends on you having NON-melee sources of damage.
The main thing is just to cast protection from energy - fire (communal). It's a lvl 3 cleric spell, so if your cleric is lvl 5 you can cast it. It gives everyone 10 fire resist, so you can mostly ignore the bombs from the alchemist.
Aside from that, just pre-buff (bless, shield, bard song, etc). You're mostly immune to the bombs, so just concentrate on killing the two melee rats quickly. Then spread around the alchemist and whack him.
they have evasion
so use acid and alchemists fire
