Why is the movement speed so SLOW
I just- I can't- most of the time they just slowly jaunt around the map and it is starting to get on my nerves. I can't force them to run and I find myself going off and watching youtube videos while they slowly lumber across a map. I thought "maybe it is because of my party encumberance"? but no, I made it "light" and it was still slow. "maybe I have that setting that slows down individual party members when heavy?" nope. Turned off. Its just really getting to me- why isn't it faster?

Your party is either affected by encumbrance, weather or aoe effect, or tired and needs to rest

I'll try resting then, but- it feels like you have to rest incredibly frequently sometimes

I've noticed that my party start slowing down, when running around or even in combat and I just alt-tab and then back in again and it speeds back up. I don't know if this was due to having windowed mode on or not though. Going to switch to full screen today and see if it happens again.

If your party is at heavy encumbrance they will have to rest frequently. If you're travelling through the rough terrain/heavy forest your overland pace is slower than on the plains. The roads to Oleg's are like a motorway compared to the heavily forested paths elsewhere.
This reson for slowness will produce a visible icon to the side of the character protrait so you can tell if it is the reason at a glance. The character sheet will also have physical stats shown in red.

Other reasons:
rage ends - when the barbarian stops raging they are temporarily fatigued
weather - if it's raining heavily, you walk much slower
a mobility affecting spell - if one of your members is webbed and you select the whole team to travel, they all move at that slow pace. This is an irritation but it helps keep the party together rather than leaving one member far behind.

See- what they should do is make the option which turns off speed decreases for encumberance count for EVERY speed drop beyond spell effects. tiredness included.

Even with only light/medium encumberance and party movement speed toggled off, no debuffs or anything, I am also experiencing a slow-down of my party. It's a program thing, not an in-game ruleset thing. I would LOVE a double speed option like Pillars of Eternity has, especially for the larger dungeons if you missed a spot (damn Vine door!)

Well thanks for the tips, but no - I'm having this issue in the tutorial mansion. Even unencumbered it seems like I'm walking in slow motion, like I'm underwater or something.

This seems to be a characteristic of Unity games, along with awful looking characters in inventory screen. Terrible engine.

Yeah, walking speed is so slow, really annoying.

and the option to stop encumbrance effecting walking speed, seems bugged as well.

Make an entire party of Monks, except the Sensei as it does not get a movement buff for some stupid reason and you will FLY across the maps.

Yeah, it bothered the ♥♥♥♥ out of me too. Somsone told me about a cheat engine you can use to speed things up which I've found has improved the game's quality of life by a lot - https://steamcommunity.com/app/640820/discussions/0/3393916911754144166/

I know that cheat engine can increase your main character's base speed... but I have not figured out how to use it to change the party speed... However,... you can easily edit the party.json file to change everyone's base speed from 30 to 100, and they will zip around the map lickity-split.

The speedhack I posted that he linked to doesn't edit any stats. It simply speeds up the game overall. Editing base speed is a much worse solution since it affects combat.

Speed hack isn't a cheat since it speeds up everything globally. It just allows you to move much more quickly across the map during downtimes.

Umm... okay...

I prefer editing stats. doesn't impact as much of the game. Cheers mate.
