How do you use metamagic rods?

I picked up a metamagic rod of maximizing and Im trying to use it with my magus, but I cant seem to figure out how to apply it to my spells

when I go to the metamagic feat menu it doesnt show up as if I had the feat

NEVERMIND IM DUMB

for anyone with the same question as me, you put it in your belt, then toggle it before casting a spell, it will be used along with the spell

Equip the rod, open your belt popout, click the rod, then cast a spell. In the abilities popout there is also a toggle for the rod, which I would suggest you turn off.
