Skeletal Champion Archer stats?
Encountered some Skeleton Champion Archers, and the damage they do is intense.

In particular, they do 1d8+6 per shot. Did someone misread the PnP bestiary?

The PnP Skeletal Champion archer has a regular longbow, meaning they deal 1d8. It's not composite, so no STR bonus (but they have an STR of 13 so who cares?), they have P-B Shot, Rapid Shot and Weapon Focus.

So the attack bonus should be right around +6 or +7, with a flat damage of 1d8 (or two +4 shots with a damage of 1d8).

Instead, they are somehow rapid firing at +14 and +9 (??), with a damage of 1d8+6. That +6 damage is HUGE and nowhere on the base monster sheet. Where is that coming from?

Now, I could see if they've taken class levels that they could get a much higher attack roll - but they're still dropping standard Composite Longbows - to get a +6 damage they'd need 24 (!?!) strength.

I'm playing on 'Challenging' which has 'somewhat tougher' enemies - but honestly jumping from 13 strength to 24 (or from +1 damge to +6, however it was done) is not 'somewhat' tougher. For an enemy that spams rapid shot, that damage jump is MASSIVE (as is the attack bonus which gives them a very high chance of landing hits even on well-protected fighters).

Can we add this enemy to the (growing) list of rebalences needed?

The developers kind of went crazy with composite longbows in general in this game, but at the same time you are playing on challenging which is widely accepted as a bit masochistic.

this mobs are pathetic, they do ~24dmg per round with rapid fire and they trigger no attacks of opportunity, devs were high or something when they designed this bullcrap

I played through untill level 6 on Challenging/w somewhat tougher enemies - but act 2 was just to much - so I restarted the game after the recent patch on Challenging - w/ normal enemy diffculty and MAN IS IT DIFFERENT.

Much more like what I would expect for a cRPG difficulty if you have played them all since Eye of the Beholder. Still, there are the occasional things that are insane, like wererats, but alot of the general grind is gone.
