There are requirements to unlock it, if you hover over it in character creation it will tell you what they are.

No, duelist is a prestige class, meaning you get to it by unlocking certain requirements with another class.

The easiest starting class for a duelist would probably be a rogue or another dex-based class.

You're welcome !

The game is based on a variation of the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset used by many other games like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate. Pillars of Eternity also has a similar system. I know a bit about it because I've played most of those games, but I couldn't give you any specific names to look up.

However, I imagine that if you looked up something like "Patfinder Ruleset" on google or youtube, you would find quite a few resources.

You can look for the Pathfinder manuals...

also, it asks you +6 BAB, it's not damage, it's the attack roll...pretty different.
Take weapon finesse as a feat, and you won't need str. Although your damage will be low, because dex only applies to attack rolls

no you need a BAB of 6, which stands for base attack bonus. classes receive BAB at different rates, but at most you gain 1 BAB per level, with classes like fighter, barbarian, monk, ranger and paladin. if you start as a rogue you won't be able to be a duelist until level 9 because rogues dont get a BAB of 6 until level 8.

I believe the +6 bonus simply mean your base attack has to hit +6 without weapons or armor (Classic D&D stat wouldn't count either). This mean a Rogue will reach this at level 7 (and warrior/Ranger/Barbarin at level 6).

So just pick a Rogue and enjoy the game. :)
