Oak-That-Strayed? (spoilers)
I understand that it's a hidden area near the hut, and I've seen a map with it revealed. I've attempted to move along the path many times to get it to appear and it hasn't. How do I unlock this area?

Supposedly it's a very very high DC roll for Perception. You just have to keep save scumming until you find it. I've not found it yet myself and I keep trying.

I can see it but can't move there

I still can't seem to find it with 5 characters that have perceptions ranging from 5 to 9....

Anyone have an idea of what the DC is and how long I'm going to have to save-scum to find the place?

Not sure. I tried many, many times and was unable to do it. I'm going to progress a bit in the story, level up and come back later.

I have a perception of 17 and found it, so there is hope. I just happen to be the perfect class for the perception skill. 4 ranks, +4 due to Wisdom, Class skill +3 due to Inquisitor, +2 Racial since I'm a Aasimar archon blooded, +2 from Stern Gaze, and + 2 from persuasive.

I had the same issue, but I was able to do some testing and... long story short: You need 10 perception to find it. I don't know if there's a secondary skill-check involved, but going from 9 to 10 perception (with a nice hat) solved the issue for me.

Or eventually wait tell late game when you get spies, these will then scout for you and find all the hidden locations and places.

That WOULD be an option if it wasn't for the fact that some locations have artifact pieces on them that you might want. By the time you get spies you might have outgrown their usage.

Huh. Might just have overlooked some, then. Just getting a bit frustrated with some of the sets that had items missing for like 20 hours now and not looking forward to trawling all the maps I already visited to look for the one hidden cache I overlooked that may hold them. >_<

You wont be able to beat a large portion of this game, tell other quests which happen, through the mainstory. The mainstory is really the core factor in the game, the side quests are important too. But anything that doesnt, make it onto your questlog, IE the relics, stories from storyteller are meant for the future like very very far out chapter events. Like Chapter 4+. Even where I am at Chapter 6+, they have no real use, perhaps its unreleased content, or foreshadowing future DLCS. Thank you have a good day! I reciomend buying the goggles from the capitol for perception. Perception is the key to finding hidden things, 25+ perception should find everything hidden. Trickery is good too for opening chests. Ideally if you got Jaethal the elf chick, or Linza or Octavia. You could upgrade thier trickery/ perception. Tell you get a well rounded, seeker follower.

It's a dice roll thing you probably rolled a 1 or something... it can be done with 7 or 8 in perception.

You have two options.

1 you wait on LvL up as then all the map-zones, traps, chests rolls can be redone if you pass the area again...
2 you can save scam it, save before you move in to the area zone if you don´t reveal/unlock it you just reload and redo...

For traps and chests rolls are character based not like the map so you can try a different companion and reroll.
Then there are buffs for skills... bards song, clerics spells abilities... there is loads off things that buffs your skills...(some don´t stack)... but sadly that will not work for map unlocking... :)
Hope this helps ....

Huh, that's a hidden area? I haven't ever NOT spotted it so far, with varying party compositions, I just thought it was a regular area that popped up when you got close to it.

What is actually supposed to be there?
