That said, unless you're going for Melee, there's not any reason to go Sorc -> DD
Hmm, I'm sorry, I lack ecperience with DnD 4e or similar (yeah, I played like once through nwn) so I'm really confused with all this system. I did play plenty of BG1/2 BG1/2EE, and that system I'm way more familiar with.
What I meant by losing levels is once you start leveling DD - you start as DDlvl1 and Sorc lvl5 (in my case at least). And it seems like all perks from Sorc that are relevant to your bloodline (so like all dragon stuff) gets moved to DD class, which you are currently lvl 1 at.
I will save and try it and report here what I got.
Also can you go a bit more into detail on how could I go about making melee DD build? It sounds cool, but I didn't think it's possible after having sorc as your baseline for first 5 levels - I have like 10 Str, 12 Con, 12 Dex, 10 Wis, 18 Int, 18 Cha atm.
1st Level Monk
2nd Level Sorc
3-5 levels Monk
6-15 levels Dragon Disciple
16-20 levels Monk
Basically you lose out on a lot of awesome monk stuff, but you get some awesome dragon stuff. You'll end up doing roughly the same damage. Your AC won't be as good, but that's what spell buffs are for. Your magic won't be great, but that's what your attacks and damage are for.
Personally, I prefer a straight up Sorc or straight up Monk. I like all the abilities they get along the way while levelling up.
That said... A winged dragon monk is very fun to play.
Im not sure you can pull it off with how you have your stats. My Int is 10 to help boost str/dex to 16.
All stuff from Sorc (majoirty) seems to move to DD.
Dragonkind for some reason greyed out.
In addition to what I lost from sorc tree and which was moved to DD tree I get:
Natural armor +3 cumulative
+4 Str (leaving me at 14 str without investing into Str which is not too bad I guess? Can make it 18 easily and above)
Blindsense (which confuses the hell out of me - what is this and how it works and I didn't even know stuff it is altering)
All Sorc blodline perks past Fear greyed out. Does it mean I won't get them or something? No idea.
Dragon Bite x5 - no idea why there is 5 of those
Breath weapon
+ 2 Con and Int
Arcane spellcasting - what is that? What does it do? Allows to cast spells or smth? But I already can...
Bloodline feats on 2 - 5 - 8 instead of 7 - 13 - 19 (so I guess it's good?)
After leveling up 1 lvl in DD it seems like I keep all dragon bloodline spells/abilities I've learned so far from sorc progression - I have Dragon Resistance listed twice now, Resist energy (even tho it is again in DD at level 5).
Can anyone try to explain what's going on there? :D
Oh, also, what feats should I get? So far I got toughness, Combat Casting, Spell Penetration, Metamagic (Empower Spell). Although I didn't find out how Metamagic works and what am I supposed to do with it.
Also the Dragon Blooded Sorcerer is designed that you need a STR score. Instead of CHA/DEX you run CHA/STR/CON. The point is that you blaster caster fire/frost/acid/electricity damage from range. Then if an enemy moves to attack you in melee you pop Mage Armor/Grow Claws and rip thier face off. Later you forgo that and instead just turn into a dragon and then rip thier face off.
Are the wings actually draconic and visible on your character model?
... sad, and dissapointing. It gives me no hope for future DLC races for this game if the devs don't appear care about the little details for the classes and prestige classes they have made.
My DDisciple i (lv8) the main melee beater of my party and he have very high AC, HP and ST!
I min max it this way:
STR 18
DEX 14
CON 16
INT 7
SAG 7
CHA 17
(It's an angelkin Aasimar)
2 Lv of paladin
2 lv of Scaled Fist Monk
1 Lv of Black Draconic Sorcerer
Then Dragon Disciple!
Every time you boost your CHA you improve your AC, all the TS and "to hit" with smite Evil!
Natural armor + dodge + braces of armor + rings and necklace... he have 29AC. Almost 30 STR and 110hp!
Before every fight i can cast shield, and enlarge person on himself!
A true beater... and in a few levels he will become a Dragon!
Don't play him like a caster, use his hight strenght + dragon style to punch, bites and cut your enemies!
