Holy avenger and sunblade
Are any of these classic paladin weapons in the game?

I would hope they would be in the game but i have not found them
Haven´t found one so far but yes, a holy avenger would be nice now you mention it.

A holy avenger is a must in and ols school dnd crpg. I think temple of elemental evil was the only game without one.

Anyone found either of these yet?
Holy avenger is just a holy cold iron +5 longsword that can cast dispel magic and gives weak SR. I've found better +5 holy weapons in the endgame-so...yes, in a way? None that are exactly right, but very similar weapons, yes.

cool, was just wondering
For context, I think the best sortuve-holy avenger was a glaive I found as one of my firstish +5 weapons, so if you want to plan ahead-glaives are a good bet. There are *also* flat out holy longswords, so don't feel too locked-in to a particular choice.

Holy weapons, some of them pretty good, yes. A holy avenger, no. But then the weapon is a far cry from what it once was in the 1st edition.

What you can get is for example a twohanded sword called Remnant, a flaming holy +5 weapon, that deals 3d6 holy damage (instead of 2d6), when the wielder is good and the target evil. And there is the Incorruptible Petal, a +5 glaive, which does 2d6 holy and sonic damage. Both of them are endgame weapons and found pretty late, though. There may be others, but I have only these two in my notes.
There are some pretty good unholy weapons, too, one of which requires you to be evil to wield it, which was a shame...only Jaethal could use it to advantage.

I guess holy sword is more accurate than holy avenger for what I was asking. Agreed about specfic magic items not being what they used to be, I will pick this game up again so nice to know theres a carrot for my paladin at the end of the road.

Redeemer Longsword +5 Holy Destructive Flaming

This +5 holy flaming longsword has an improved critical multiplier. It grants its wielder the ability to cast transformation spell once per day.

Light of Valor Longsword +5 Holy Axiomatic

This +5 holy axiomatic longsword grants its wielder the ability to cast searing light spell as a 10th level cleric at will.

Both exist in game AFAIK. Prior to endgame your holy longsword will be whatever you're wilding :P

The closest I've gotten is a Bastard Sword +2 with Holy damage & now a Scimitar which does both Holy & (magic) fire damage. Maybe there's one in that newest DLC (Tenebrous Depths), but I doubt it. A weapon like that is probably too OP anyway, especially when combined with a certain armor that you find in a certain Dwarf/Troll fort.
