Mercy?
greetings people. so, I had a question. maybe i'm doing something wrong, but is there a way to control how bloodthirsty your group is?
like, when I dm'd the AP, my group had a shelyn cleric who ended up trying to convert many of the bandits or at the least spare them. i'm also generally a merciful if possible type and i've noticed, even if you try for nonlethal takedowns (sleep or otherwise) there's no way to force a subdue that isn't scripted. I wanted to try and spare Hopps boden for example (ended up retrying 4 times putting the guy to sleep or trying to let someone other than amiri attack the guy) no dice. he would just go splat. I managed to talk Akiros and Kressle down, but they just kinda scattered to the wind. did I miss some cue or are there any hidden mechanics im unaware of, or did the devs just not think i'd want these folks around long term?

Probably no hidden mechanics. Haven't seen any 'non-lethal' weapons, for instance. Overpowering and capturing enemies, even in the real world, is only viable if you're significantly stronger in some way.

Basically, it's viable only for the scripted events, but that's the ones that matter the most anyway.
