every 4 levels you get +1 to a stat of your choice. The rest of your enhancements come from Physical stat belts and Mental stats headbands. Or buffs like mutagens or barb rage, or enlarge/reduce person.

Yes you do get ASI (Ability Score Improvement) at Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.
Means you get 5 more points to assign throughout your character's journey to level 20.
