Reg is cursed and nothing helps.
I have an idea when he contracted it but its a few saves back. Reg is cursed with deterioration curse and I cannot seem to remove it via potions or scrolls. Any suggestions? Or is this really permanent?

The DC is probably too high for a scroll or a potion to beat.

Learn / memorize remove curse with your wizard and use that instead. You should also quicksave before using it and check the combat log to see how much you need to roll and reload if needed until you beat the curse DC.

Without more info it’s hard to say for sure, but I imagine what’s happening is that the curse’s DC/caster level is too high for a potion or scroll to remove (that or it’s high enough that it’s quite unlikely). If this is the case, you can do one of a few things.

The easiest and cheatiest will be to set the difficulty so that debuffs are removed when you rest, then rest and set the difficulty back to where you had it before.

You could also try dropping the Enemy Stat Adjustments and Enemy Difficulty settings to their lowest values: I’m not positive, but I imagine that should lower the DC of the curse. Then have your highest caster level spellcaster with the remove curse spell use it; remember that caster level can be lower than character level if you’re multiclassing. Then set the difficulty settings you adjusted back to their usual values.

If you don’t want to mess with the difficulty settings, just do the same as above without the difficulty adjustments, though you may need to repeat the process more. Also if you’ve got Jubilost and he has the enhance potion discovery, he can use a potion of remove curse at his own caster level, and administer it to others (if you don’t know how to do that already, put the potion on his belt and click the little black arrow above it to “cast” it on a target at touch range).

Cast a baleful polymorph on him with your wizard, it will lower the curse DC. Then remove.

Or drop the game difficulty and rest (the easiest way).

The paladin curse-removal mercy works automatically without needing to beat a DC, though not every Kingmaker party will have a paladin in it. Otherwise curse DCs can be surprisingly high which makes them difficult to remove with spells.

I actually thought the potions had a set casting level regardless of the person drinking. Thanks for the tip, it seems like the best meathod would be to keep re-rolling that dice. Rather surprised the curse is that high, the Nixie pranksters weren't that hard.

Unfortunately the closest thing paladin is Harrim and I have tried it with him and nothing happened.

DC level is at 37. I don't think I have anyone high enough to dispell this. The party is only at level 18.

Typically you'd be looking at 1d20 + caster level for this, so a roll of 19 would be enough to remove a DC 37 curse if your caster(s) stayed pure. You can improve your odds with recipes such as whiterose oysters that provide bonuses to caster level checks.

Alternatively, you can simply have the character die and then resurrect them.

Owlcat didn’t think some of their blanket changes to the PnP stats through when they applied them, which results in occasional ridiculous DCs like this. I really wouldn’t feel bad about futzing around with the difficulty settings to deal with situations like this in your position.

Yes but reducing the difficulty is pretty much cheating in my book. I don't mind exploiting the system within the game itself but mods and reducing diff are out.

Also I just realized I can always just get Reg killed and resurrect him.

Frankly, messing with the difficulty is probably the closest this game gets to PnP—good DMs have to fudge the numbers often in order to tread the line between providing challenge to the party without murdering them all, and since the game can’t do that, Owlcat provided tools to the player to sorta kinda do the same thing.

Just saying how I see it, myself, not telling you to do something you don’t want to. For me, coming at this game from the PnP and encountering all of Owlcat’s odd choices in adaptation, I have a different sort of balance in my head than exists in the game, so adjusting various difficulty settings is sort of a continuous process for me as I try to chase down the experience I’m after.

Wow even the oysters didn't do it for me. I think I will have to kill reg and res him.

Yup killing did it.
