Ancient curse part six
I'm in need of strategy against the wild hunt feys. My party is level 14. I cast couple of buffs including Haste, Stoneskin, Prot from Chaos, Freedom of Movement, bless etc... All my melee fighters have cold iron weapons. I start the fight with summoned creatures first then start casting baleful polymorph on the scouts.

Yet as soon as the fight starts i get dispelled and re-paralyzed immediately. Harrim has a mace with freedom of movement so he runs around casting remove paralyze on people but in the meantime the party gets overwhelmed with the third wave of wild hunt feys and the battle gets out of control. This is in the normal diffuculty.

Anyone has a solid strategy against this encounter? Or should i just reload and hope that i get lucky with the saves and down them before they become overwhelming?

I haven't gotten this far, but sadly the most effective method I would have of fighting that can't be done in game. Which is casting anti-magic field on the fighter and let him have field day murdering all of those weak, squishy fey once they're suddenly bereft of any and all magic, inclusing supernatural abilities.

(Seriously, fey are incredibly weak inside of anti-magic. d6 racial HD, half BAB, and practically all of their defenses are magical or supernatural. And on top of that, they can't even effectively flee)

Yeah the game has protection from spells but that doesnt protect against (Su) attacks.

One thing i havent tried yet is banishment or dismissal. If i can get a lucky save from the feys that may make the fight easier.

I cast sirroco, stinking cloud, acid fog, obsidian flow, web, entangle and some more nasty AOE at the portal. My main and Valerie had immunity to fatigue and just wait for monarch here. Others shot arrows at helpless fey. Monarch was dead before he could dispell protection from poison and freedom.

Greater shout did the trick. Stun them before they stun you.

Freedom of movement as a spell (Harrim has one). They are still nasty after that, but manageable.

Long time since anyone has added to this but here goes ( might be someone who struggled first few times like me ) anyways 3rd time made 3 changes for fairly easy win , assuming your all buffed of course . Added some freedom of movement buffs didnt have many but added them to my main dps girl (Amiri ) and my tank ( hired merc to replace Val , imaginatively named Valkyrie :) ) , got Octavia to cast Acid Fog at the portal while invis and Harrim to cast mass protection from Acid . Then just let it run on auto pilto till the main dude arrived , then concentrated everyone on him .

Anytime you face the Wild Hunt, buff with everything you've got. They're really nasty to fight. Freedom of Movement is super useful and honestly I get my mains the Blind Fight feat. There's a cloak that gives you blindness immunity. Every little bit helps. Slight spoiler warning, but you're going to have to fight them again in the future.

Several times.

In a row.

Lots of them.

So find a strategy that works for your party cos buddy, you're gonna NEED it.

Thnx for the info , i am almost about to level up to 16 , so am thinking of giving my ranger , trickster , cleric and monster tact a fighter level each , so they can grab the blind fight feat .
Also going to memorise Freedom of Movement as much as i can . Hopefully find some gear with Freedom of movement or immunity to gaze attacks .
