Warning about very deadly event! (spoilers)
Since I had to replay a part of game because of it, I'll post it here, maybe someone will avoid the trouble.

The event called "Fey Pranks" was deadly to my kingdom.

It causes to lose up to 4 points in 3 aspects (don't remember which), and as long as this event is unsolved, it hits every two days. As I understand, it is connceted to the Curse quest, stage 4 that happens at the Armag chasing story arc. (Sorry for not remembering names).

My probelm was, that the only advisor that could solve it (Warden) was busy with another, pretty long event that couldn't be cancelled. It takes only one day to solve it, but as I said, it will drain your kingdom every two days, until you are left with nothing.

So, when you are at Armag story arc, and see that curse quest is nearing it's next stage, don't put Warden to any other projects, unless they are very short. And even save a few times, in different files.

Clearing the Hill won't remove the event! I did them both at same day (game day).

Yeah i had to reload too because of this and you get another one in the future. Because of this quest everytime a month start im skipping at least 7 days just to be sure. Im not even sure this ♥♥♥♥ related to any quest but if it is my guess is that its probably happen when the quest with the timer, the one that tell you to "prepare for anything" hit 0. If its random thats pretty stupid all that would mean is ♥♥♥♥ all opportunity, resolve all problem and keep the rest of the councelor for these dumb ass event.

i really think it should be possible to pause (or even cancel) events-in-progress...

I know what you mean. There are projects that, as far as I can say, do nothing more than give some backround info about certain quests, but can take 120 days and more to resolve (besides a three didgit amount of BP). If you get stuck with a recurring problem like the one you've described that drains your kingdom's stats every few days and which can only be solved by that advisor, then you're screwed.

King: *bursts through door into the arcane advisors chambers* MY KINGDOM GETS OVERRUN BY DEMON SPIDERS. STOP YOUR WORK ON THAT USELESS RESEARCH AND STOP THE CURSE!
Arcane advisor: No.
King: WHAT? THAT'S IT! YOU'RE FIRED!
Arcane advisor: No.
King: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I'VE SAID YOU'RE FIRED!
Regent: *pipes up from behind* I'm afraid she's right, my king. You can't fire her just like that. You have to let her finish her work first.

LOL. And yeah, hence i never do those projects and they lie around eternally collecting dust. Just too risky. No idea if not doing them eventually also has a negative impact, which wouldn't suprise me. There are others of questionable value too. Like invest 150 BP and block the treasurer for 3 weeks to get a 10% discount on x buildings. Not sure if that kind of thing is worth it.

That's an event linked to bald hilltop quest.
Go to bald hilltop, do the quest there, then do this event, and you will not be able to fail it.

As I said, first time I got it, my Warden was busy with 20+ days remaining. Five hits of this event was enough for my poor kingdom to fall.

Agreed -- there should be an option to pull an advisor from his/her current assignemnt. Even if this resulted in the original task immediately failing, there are many, many circumstances where this would be worthwhile, including the OP's situation.

If I recall it right, there should be a location connected to the Fey Pranks, a glade.

No, this issue is happening because he hasn't completed the 1 day project associated with Bald Hilltop, which you need to complete before you can actually go to Bald Hilltop and resolve the situation directly. What you are talking about is something else altogether.

Same problem as OP. My advisor for this event is locked into a project training another advisor and can't be reassigned, so every day I'm losing -4 to 3 stats. My only save before all of this is back at the start of Armag's Tomb, so I'm not going through all of that again. Extremely frustrating. Oh, and it's a DC 30 event to fix, and even when I succeeded it gave me -11 to two stats and -8 on another, on top of everything else I'd already lost. Extremely poor game design when you don't actually have any option to avoid/solve a particular problem.

Stage 4... i should know by then that now... you HAVE to make that a priority ;)

EDIT: Design could perhaps be better to allow or prepare people for failure. There should be a 'recall' option if you need to cancel a task and reassign an advior. Lose those days spent but if you need them to attend to a different task it'd massive reduce the complaints.

This is yet another game breaking aspect of the game. And another reason I am not playing the game until they fix it. Ridiculous.

Theres a mod on Nexus that has every event resolve in 1 day. Seems reasonable considering how bad the system is right now.
