Selective channeling
Maybe I'm dumb... but I have the selective channeling feat on a couple characters but for the life of me I can't figure out how to select certain members of my party after selecting the ability. I'm just healing things I don't want to heal! I select channel and then I go to select a character it simply moves to that character as if I am now giving that character orders. It must be something simple I'm not getting.

Selective Channel works with Channel Healing ( you only heal your group) and channel undead energy (only damages undead enemies) its only for those 2 abilities.

I understand that. But you are supposed to "Select" who you want healed are you not? It seems that I am healing other living monsters I am fighting still.

No, Selective Channeling should automatically exclude non friendly/friendly targets for your energy channels.

Odd it didn't seem to... I will double check! Thanks.

You don't select whom you heal. It's like a fof system. It should only heal friendlies. Now it may be that it will also heal confused friends, but other than that the only target it should heal that you may not want healed is someone who is downed (<0 hp). I've had people die (< -CON) because they got healed to over 0 hp when in the threat range of an enemy who then critted them with the resulting AoO.

In one fight I had Tristan spamming channel to keep Valerie alive. Each round he'd wake up Amiri who'd subsequently get knocked straight back down. I had to move Valerie (triggering an AoO on her) just to get the troll far enough away from Amiri that he couldn't permanently put her to sleep.

I'm also unsure whether it actually works as intended. I've a custom paladin and a custom cleric in my team, one can perform the normal channeling, the other the selective one. When I'd to do the difficult fight with the storm shambling mound (don't remember its true name) in the other world which you can reach from the Varnhold mountains I specifically chose the selective channeling (in several different attempts) and moments later I see that the mound has restored like a third of its health (it has regeneration but only 10 points or so every one or two rounds). I'd to try this 7 or 8 times and every time I used selective channeling I got the feeling that the mound restores large amounts of health, too. I only managed to defeat it by not using channeling during the combat.

In the PnP, you can exclude from the healing one objective per Charisma modifier. If you Charisma is the minimum for the skill, 13, it would only exclude one.
I have not experienced myself, but I read on the forum that selective channelling works like in PnP and not by the game description. I will check as my main is in that situation ( selective channel with Cha 13)
