One way to check:
Each of the first five posts has one party member who can fill that post. So you see what bonus they provide in the Advisor screen and then check which of their stats provides that amount.
That's my theory anyway, haven't tried it myself.
In theory, this would mean that party members make better advisors as you can adjust their stats. Unless the NPC advisors can 'level up' over time.
INT: treasurer, arcane, curator
CHA: regent
WIS: counselor
I am pretty sure general and warden are based on sstrength, but maybe warden is based on CHA
Councilor: WIS
General: STR
Treasurer: INT
High priest: WIS
Grand diplomat: CHA
Magister: INT
Warden: CON
Curator: CHA
Minister: (No idea. Can't get it to unlock with my current character. :/)
(Kesten makes for a bad warden, he can't beat the DC rolls even in the early game. Ekundayo and Regongar are not much better. Pretty much have to stack +CON equipment on one of them, but there's not a lot of those in the game. Except for the magic belts.)
