Some location can not be spotted?

First game is Saint Galvan's gullet. I m sure I am in the right place and I walk around it dozens time yet nothing to be found.
Second game is Swamp Ruins. same as last time...
is this some sort of bug?

Yup some story related stuff sometimes cannot be spotted, until your character somehow learn about where to look.

For others is just perception roll i believe.

by the way I do spotted Swamp Ruins in first game,and I spotted Saint Galvan's gullet in this game...

or take somebody with a high perception with you. later on in the game (chapter 4-5) there are projects, where you can send your scouts out for finding the areas, you have not unlocked until then.

I spot saint galvans gullet but I cannot find a path to it to save my damn life. Which path does it branch off? Ah, nevermind, found it the 3rd lap around. Meh.
