Convert potions into melee touch spells by clicking on the arrow by the icon.
Tristian is a bad cleric since he has low strength when cleric focus on melee touch spells.
Use touch of chaos from Harrim on all opponents. Put enemies on hold with stunning barrier, if you block the attack the barrier will still stun the target but if you dodge the attack it will be considered a miss. Use color spray early on. Grease maybe a favorite but the spell is reflex saved which is a common stat and it harms as much it helps by covering the floor with grease. Mobility is key and grease helps when you have all the tools available to select targets with meta magic. Instead use entangle from druid school, it has bigger area and it doesn't prone your own characters.
not sure what you mean by tristian is broken. with his domain spells. btw wouldnt tristian make a better healer than harrim regardless because he has the healing domain that empowers all healing spells he cast?
And while Tristian is better healer+ has +2 sacred bonus buff. Harrim is better caster and is more useful in combat.
to do that i need some kinda way of healing without reliance on clerics. like say passing a ring of regen to valerie/amiri and using potions on the ranged chars who dont take much dmg. do rings of regen or any such item exist in this game?
Have a strong tank that has all gear and feats around taking damage, do not worry at all about doing damage. Mid-game AC will be 40-50 and with buff spells like blur/displacement and others from your sorc they will take surprisingly little damage.
Make sure you always have the tank go in solo to start the fight. Stupid AI homes in on and generally stays on that character. With the tank way out front to grab aggro you should be good and just have to watch for attacks from rear (I usually move the rest of the party close to the tank once battle is on).
Done efficiently many battles have single digit damage on my tank and once Extend Displacement is a thing sometimes no damage.
The domain powers part of Domain Mastery works fine. Of course, empowered healing only kicks in at L6. Anyway, Tristian's main problem is his horrible domain choices.
I'm not convinced Harrim is much better as a caster, particularly with the special abilities Tristian gets later. Not all that good with melee touch attacks, but that's not what you'd have him cast anyway. And Blessing of the Faithful is an underrated ability.
What sometimes burns me is having so many enemies that they physically all can't attack the tank had have to choose other targets. This is my real use case for Harrim.
That what summons are for as they are great distractions.
