Oh and they're undead. I'm sure you can figure out a way to use that against them.
I'm at this part on challenging... and I find it to be remarkably easy. I'm using the premade builds (so technically, custom with everything else set to challenging) and my characters literally go through them like a farmer through wheat. Valerie tanks with ~40 AC and my main character (knife master) goes in and kills one per round. Backline just sort of tries to attack but never gets to because my character kills them too fast. Occasionally I get hit and just have Tristian heal for like ~20-30 HP every time he channels energy. The ability drain from the defaced sisters is sort of annoying though (I didn't bother to remove it yet and am greeding for Greater Restoration at lv 13). It hasn't been a big deal, just makes it so that I get encumbered a little too easily.
If you find yourself dying a lot, perhaps you should rethink your party? I'm fairly certain 40 AC Valerie can tank these guys for ages.
Kill off the cleric ones with a rogue + Ekun's dog. Then go back and kill the melees that are whiffing on Valerie.
