Report a translation problem
Just the potion icon = you drink the potion (normal rules)
Up-arrow icon = you are feeding the potion to someone which is treated in this like casting the spell in this game. ("casting a spell" failure applies I guess)
The up-arrow one is unique to this game, but feeding someone a potion would be a full round action that would provoke an AOO in the P&P.
Not 100% accurate, and not a *great* implementation, but feeding someone else a potion in combat should be a *very* rare occurrence.
