After not siding with either side I went on and defeated her in the caves then let her go. Does that mean i am screwed and locked myself out of completing the main quest?

You just gonna have to kill the Kobold chief to get his key (relic) from his corpse...

Thanks for the prompt reply. I think I killed all the kobolds too but i have not noticed their chief among the dead nor their artifact in my inventory. The whole cave is cleared on both levels at this point. I'll probably roll back to an earlier save and redo the dungeon again.

Thank you. As it turns out I have left that section of the caves unexplored. Seems like only the kobolds have a relic key to open the door and I should have gone to them first.
